Preventing US / NATO Attack on Western Border: An Effective Option

By Farid Masood • Jul 18th, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 16 Comments

Time is running out for Pakistan, due to our wrong foreign policies we have to face such days. From July 15th, next two months are very crucial for Pakistan’s safety. Time has passed for dialogue; time is running our for our political leaders, they should abandon foreign tours join Parliament to make a goal oriented dialogue to have consensus on foreign policy to patch it with the current issues of national security. They should also visit border areas to study before re-establishing the future policies. Our leaders should also put in their efforts to settle down issues creating disturbance for people of Pakistan and affecting a unanimous attention towards this issue.

The upcoming time is also crucial for up-coming November elections in United States. To gain popularity in US Bush Administration may opt for any stupid action resulting of loss of hundreds / thousands of innocent human lives. On the other hand Barak Obama’s party may also opt for various statements (as evident from recent statements) to put pressure on Bush’s Party. This may also result in stupidity from US-led coalition in Afghanistan. The time mentioned above is much suitable for ground assault on our western borders.

Three million people living in Pakistani western border areas are peace-loving people and are true Pakistanis. They have intercepted every intruder from Afghanistan before and after independence of Pakistan.

Recently they were termed as ‘Talibans’ is taken as ‘Terrorists’ but in-fact they are patriots, It is the right time for them to show patriotism.

No army had won a war without nation’s support. US of A has a habit to choose battle-grounds far away from her. Nation at the back of an army is a moral boosting phenomenon, but to defend our western borders this time we have to change our strategy. Our patriots have to fight at front and remaining nation & forces shall back them.

How our three million inhabitants of western borders will fight; cutting the supply lines is actually breaking the back-bone of an army, and when the supply lines crosses the western border from Pakistan, then its very easy to cut it. To cut supply line its easy for our patriots to destroy by blasting away every road, track, gorge, bridge etc from Kandhar upto Jalalabad and where ever present, which leads to Afghanistan and keep them cut only for three months. This would stop 150~300 trucks carrying wheat, flour, sugar, medicines, coffee, cigarettes, garments, cement etc per day. if this supply of cut it would make a strong blow on the face of Afghanistan. We cannot stop the supply line from Russian state which are feeding Afghanistan by 150~200 trucks a day but we can do what is in our hands.

Furthermore, they should gun down any person, crossing border between Pakistan & Afghanistan, either from Pakistan or from Afghanistan.

After three months winter season will start and this month of three months with a cut on supply to Afghanistan will help the change of US foreign policies on so- called war on terror when their army and their puppets will strive for food. I am sure empty stomachs don’t help the brain to think any thing stupidly.

This act of ‘Talibans’ will also force Pakistan’s policy-makers to re-think about their status and established approach against them.

  1. sure empty stomac does not help the brain to think. But the powers who are bent upon to destroy innocent population to meet their nefarious designs camafoudge themselves under many concocted pretexts.Muslim must think togather to survive togather, masuood

  2. farid although yuor first para of the article was logically expressed but later in the contest your theme completely deviated towards extremism and unethical justification.regards

  3. Cutting the food supply line will surely cut the throats of Afghan Government and their guests. Pakistani business community must re-think the option of earning dollars in lieu of national security. They are doing business at the risk & cost of national security and food inflation within the country.

Mr Karzai, if sincere with Afghanistan, must acknowledge it that Pakistan is still hosting 3.5 million Afghan refugees for decades; If they are expelled from Pakistan they & residents of Afghanistan will die with hunger.

  4. National security interests demand that all those involved in extremism, terrorism and anti Pakistan activities are destroyed on either side of the borders. They are our enemies and must be treated as such, we must be willing and prepared to pay any price to defend our country and our people and our way of life. We must support all the forces who are fighting these fundos; it is high time that we differentiate between friends and foes and what is in our best national interest.

  5. Farid Masood Says, “If they are expelled from Pakistan they & residents of Afghanistan will die with hunger….”

Farid, here I will put question mark on your wishes. How you will expel them??? You means Pakistan. They are running to whole Pakistan. Having maximum hold on locomotives from Karachi to Khyber. If today, we will try to threat them, they will be prove to be more dangerous than NATO/USA because they are already within our borders. They have all kind of war heads to resist or even claim that you NWFP guys should leave this Province because it is ours. We are sitting on bombs so every step should be taken after analysing all threats and opportunities of our decisions. Army can not save whole country. We have already seen in Bangladesh case also. Afghanis are nation and they can unite in a second and that will be killing for Pakistan. Be careful.

Pakistan must tackle situation with wisdom and welcome intellectuals for solving our issues. Politicians lacks vision and they normally do decisions for saving their ass. They hardly see beyond 5 years. Where as we can not solve our problems by planning for just 5 years.

  6. My friend, a very successful businessman often quotes ” There is always an opportunity in every problem”. he says that only right click at right time is required. Today there are lot of opportunities lying behind Pakistan’s problem. If we will act foolishly, other will click it in right way and we will not able to bear that loss. We must be careful in our future actions and policies.

  7. cutting supply line is need of the hour, just spread it with the word of mouth. there are many underlying things which need to be understood, we have to help our government in this regard

  8. One good news I read yesterday that FATA people unanimously agreed on one thing i.e. to control Illegal wheat export to Afghanistan through their territories. Pakistan can not be blamed in this matter also but it will help us a lot. Lets see its practical implementations.

  9. Police arrested a woman and a 13-year-old child they alleged were suicide bombers planning to kill a provincial governor in central Afghanistan, officials claimed on Friday.

The two were arrested on Thursday night as they were allegedly fixing explosives to themselves behind the governor’s residence in Ghazni, provincial government spokesman Ismail Jahangir told AFP.

“They both were attempting to get into governors’ compound and target the governor and high-ranking officials,” Jahangir claimed.

It is rare that women carry out attacks in Afghanistan. But a suicide attack in May in southwestern Farah province was apparently carried out by a woman in a burqa.

Jahangir claimed the woman and the child could not speak either of Afghanistan’s main languages, Dari and Pashto, but spoke Urdu and Arabic.

They were presented to the media several hours after their arrest.

The deputy police chief of Ghazni, Abdul Ghani, told reporters the woman had confessed she was from Multan and had come to the city to carry out a suicide attack.

  10. Saleem sahib these are all rumours that she was from multan (infact a part of international propoganda). Real point is that legal wheat export should also be stopped as poor in Pakistan is unable to purchase flour at current prices.

  11. Yes I know about these rumours. I just wanted to show real face of these Afghani Govt.

  12. Aftab S Alam…”National security interests demand that all those involved in extremism, terrorism and anti Pakistan activities are destroyed on either side of the borders. They are our enemies and must be treated as such, we must be willing and prepared to pay any price to defend our country and our people and our way of life.”

+1 to what Mr. Aftab said, further adding that we also need to recognize our enemy be it within or without the country. Our country is our identity and without it we are nothing more than a grain of sand in the big desert.

  13. Fighting a war doesn’t mean only firing bullets, deploying missiles and air attacks, their are many strategies to fight war, like we have seen in Vietnam but that is confronting with the enemy. The time is to prevent confrontation (if on table of naferious designers to destablize an atomic power) by stopping any sort of aid we are extending to US/NATO presence and Afghan government.

It would be our legitimate action to stop exports to Afghanistan.

  14. Atleast, yesterday, they have come to a table to discuss issues of western areas of Pakistan. They have jointly accepted that there should be no use of force until there is a dire need of that. Lets see how they further proceed on remaining issues of Judiciary, Coalition, Price hikes, Inflation and last but not least supplies to Afghanistan

  16. Government decide to stop logistics support to Afghanistan from Pakistan if US not refrain from attacks:
