President Obama spoke to the Muslim world
By M. Waqas (Ex MPA) • Jun 11th, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponsePresident Obama spoke to the Muslim world from the podium of Cairo university .He touched hot issues and addressed the ongoing conflicts. His tone was soft, attitude compromising and gestures were friendly but he was very clear in his message.
The first issue he liked to discuss was militancy and extremism, he recalled the tragedy of 9/11 and the victims of that incidents but he failed to understand that the same irony is faced by the children, women and men of Islamic world, and this time the offender is no one else but the USA. To pursue few hundred Taliban and Al Qaida men no one has the right to destroy Afghanistan and turn Iraq into ashes and to kill millions of human beings, innocent children women and men. US did that on the pretext of alqaida in Afghanistan and to find WMD in Iraq. However US is now changing the strategy by pulling out its forces and giving the task of curbing the enemy to other Militaries and the best choice in this regard is Pak Army.
Second he talked about Middle East, about the burning issue of Palestine, but in the beginning he remind the Muslim world that his country is strong ally of Israel and enjoy very worm relations with her. Unfortunately he didn’t look into the miseries of Palestinians, their dislocation from their homeland and their continuous genocide by the brutal Israeli Army.
Third he talked about democracy and democratic values, but interestingly he chose Egypt as a venue for his address to Islamic world, which is having the worst kind of dictatorial regime and worst record of violating basic human rights. This shows that USA is not interested in democracy in Islamic world nor it is interested in the condition of basic human rights in these kind of dictatorial regimes.
He also talked about religion and belief, he tried to tell the world that US is a tolerant society to all the faiths but unfortunately record shows the different kind of story. Muslims are harassed and mentally and physically tortured for being Muslims and committed to their faith and religion in USA.
In nut shell the address was a classical example of hypocrisy in combination with diplomacy. President Obama spoke in a soft way but his message was not so soft for Muslim ummah because there is little difference in pursuit of targets between him and the Bush Administration.

Sir,
A very correct assessment. Have you got the guts to express them in your national parliament through your MPA friends?
