PPP Goes After Sharif Brothers

By Salman Mugsi • Nov 17th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses

As the Opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan carries on his acid attacks on the performance of the PPP-led coalition government, the PPP top leadership wants to shut Chaudhry Nisar by pressurizing his leadership. Law Minister Farooq H Naek and Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer are the most ardent supporter within PPP to put leashes on the PML(N), and both are lobbying hard within the party to take the PML(N) head on, while taking aid of Chaudhry Shujaat in Punjab in order to topple the PML(N) government.

Law Minsiter has two cases to pressurize the PML(N) leadership. One is the eligibility cases of the Sharif brothers and the second one is disqualification reference against the Punjab Chief Minister based on dual membership of the provincial assembly. Shahbaz Sharif won from Rawalpindi and also from Bhakkar.

Salman Taseer wants to use some of the judges in the Lahore High Court and also The Election Commission, while Farooq H. Naek wants to use the PML(Q) first and then the legal birds. A head-on clash between PPP and PML(N) is inevitable now.
