Post Musharraf PDA
By Gul Raiz • Apr 4th, 2008 • Category: Politics • One ResponseAnti-Musharraf agenda has brought PML-N and PPP, the historical bitter adversaries, on the same plate. Pull the Musharraf out of the equation, and the sum of Nawaz and Zardari would be at loggerheads once again, negating every value.
President Musharraf’s one un-intentional achievement is to bring these two enemies together, which has really stunned the world, and as both Zardari and Nawaz Sharif show sagacity and maturity while Musharraf rolls his eyes at the top, things look pretty promising in the future. But what happens if Musharraf call it quits?
Many think that will be the starting point of discords and tussles within the coalition of Pakistan Democratic Alliance, and the first rift-creators will be the MQM. Some even go on to say that establishment has on purpose asked MQM to join hands with PPP and then throw spanner in the works as Musharraf quits, which is now decided.
Pakistan faces many crisis and the national government is the need of hour. With a properly chosen President, and a a real justice in the Supreme Court, and with free media, both PML-N and PPP must work together. They have walked together well uptill now and have traversed many hurdles together. I believe that even if Musharraf quits, they both will somehow go on together.
