PML(N) Get Out of Lahore

By Rohail Butt • Apr 26th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments

Yes, get out of Lahore and become a national party. The cosmetics measures like forming a fact-finding committee regarding the issues and problems of Balochistan and NWFP is not going to accomplish much, rather nothing, as nothing can be found compiling reams of papers while sitting in the Lahore.

It’s the onus of Nawaz Sharif to leave his palace in Jati Umra and go to Kohlu, Dera Bugti and Turbat and find the facts himself as he doesn’t know about them already. He must remember that time when he announced the construction of motorway in the Balochistan with his hands in the hands of Akhtar Mengal. He must remember those dreams and sparkle in the eyes of great Baloch people at that time and he must face the anger which is staring us in the face right now.

This time no promises and no excuses, Mr. Nawaz Sharif. You may become Prime Minister once again just on the basis of Punjab votes but people of Sindh, NWFP and Balochistan are also part of this land and they must have their chosen Prime Minister. If you just represent Punjab, which you didn’t in the past fair enough, but now that is case, then you must not even go for the top slot. You need to rise above what you are doing right now.

Hand over the Punjab to Shahbaz Sharif and his aides and go explore Sindh, NWFP, FATA and Balochistan. Your life and time belongs to these people upon which you aspire to rule. You have got all the ingrediants to become a natinal leader, but only if you break your internal barriers and rise above expediency.

  1. Hi Rohail,
Has Nawaz got the vision which you suggest? Has he got the guts to visit these places?
Only Benazir had the guts and vision

  2. Nawaz does not have guts and he does not need any!

He is working hard to convince the good old USA that he is cured & fully recovered from his chronic ambitions to be the “ameer ul monineen” and this time around there will be no references to the “Sharia” and no more ‘Shalwar Kameez’ - this time it will be only designer suits and ties and he will be as ‘good boy’ as a good boy must be!

And we all will use our power of ‘myopia’ and let the national collective amnesia take over and we will conveniently forget that what Nawaz’s mentor Zia started , like a faithful protege of his benefactor, Nawaz just carried it forward and further developed. These ‘talibans’ and their agenda is a natural outcome of Nawaz & Zia & Co. misadventure at our peril. But who cares.

  3. Nawaz Sharif is the only man who can take out the ship of this country from the tsunami of problems.
Were you all sleeping when he got two third majority in his last reign?
You are all saying these things only because Zardari has fooled you.
Without any security he risked his life on 16 march.
    Anyone could have killed him.
i am sure zardari has tried his level best to do him in.
By the way johann i dont agree with you but benazir is a martyr so i wont answer you
    i respect her

  4. Yup thats very true PML (N) now should become a national party rather then just focusing on Punjab. This is really rediculus that you only focus on your home town and doing well of only those people. Its really kind of special treatment for lahoris. lets hope thing get better soon and Mian Nawaz Shareef can focus on other regions as well.
