People’s Party and Qaatil League
By Rohail Butt • Jan 23rd, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponseIt seems that the alliance of Pakistan People’s Party and PML(Q) is on the cards. The joint venture of PML(N) and PPP has run out of steam and one has to hand it over to their top lot that they have tolerated each other for a long time. One year in the politics is a long long time. In this politics of tolerance the credit largely goes to the PML(N), which stuck to the coalition with PPP despite of the fact that Zardari back-tracked from the promises and the charter of democracy.
The forward bloc of PML(Q) under the leadership of Najaf Sial has once again re-joined the PML(Q). This forward bloc announced support to PPP after the formation of their bloc. There are two main forward blocs in PML(Q). One is led by Najaf Sial tilting heavily towards PPP, and other led by Chaudhry Ashraf supporting strongly Shahbaz Sharif of PML(N). As PPP and PML(Q) are going to make a coalition, the forward bloc of PML(Q) of Najaf Sial has rejoined the PML(Q).
PML(Q) leadership Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Moonis Elahi and Pervaiz Elahi has met with Asif Ali Zardari last week on dinner and they have finalized the coalition. Salman Taseer, the governor Punjab is the broker of this deal. Rehman Malik is the executer and lotas have started rolling.
Just one year ago, the same PML(Q) was termed as Qaatil League by Zardari in Larkana after the funeral of late Benazir Bhutto. In his quest to become absolute despot, Zardari is violating all kinds of ethics and morals.
