Pakistan’s Electricity Problem
By Pervaiz Alvi • Feb 25th, 2012 • Category: Politics • 8 CommentsFor almost all the Pakistan, one top most unanimous problem is of the electricity. They simply don’t have it. They are dreading the upcoming summer, though even right now as the winter is concluding their plight with respect to the power is very dismal with hours and hours of loadshedding.
We all surely are fed up to maximum extent of all these clowns like Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Naveed Qamar and we know that they are corrupt and incompetent, and so is their boss. So what we should, I mean is it now our destiny to be in the darkness forever? Will we not see light of the Tungsten ever again uninterrupted?
We Pakistanis do protest, but in our protests we destruct. The angry protesters burn effigies of rulers, burn tyres, pelt stones, attack public and private property. They torch the offices and vehicles of the electricity-supplying company. Sometimes, they even hold company staff hostage. Has it any effect?
Simply no. Except destroying our own country there is no effect. We need to learn that these rulers simply are not interested and are not capable to resolve this issue. Again, we need some real leaders here to resolve this issue once and forever.

It is quite true that Pakistan faces the most corrupt, the most incompetent & the most ineligible team of rulers destroying Pakistan in every department of life since 2007. They are the most uninterested to solve any national issue & apply political revenge throughout Pakistan in all departments of life. How do we get rid of them is the question. Talking of electricity the devils have auctioned the country in the hands of rental power units & electricity stealers or dacoits whatever name you may give them. China has offered a no of times to send it’s team of engineers & technicians to check & upgrade the power production/supply system as well as remove all the faults leading to power failure at times but this is the department where the devils have legalized all sorts of corruption, & can’t bear any foreign country’s interruption as they call it in this department. Their friendly opposition is equally involved in this blunder. What we can do is to knock out all of them in the coming election. May Allah save Pakistan from any further damage from the hands of these devils. Ameen
The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) terminated power supply to Gharo and Dhabeji pumping stations in Karachi on Saturday as a result of unpaid dues of the Water Board which originally amounted to Rs1 billion, reported Express News.
-means consumers too not paying to electricity production companies!!
Problem is lack of resources, Alvi Sahib——-we have no money to buy oil from international markets, period. We are one of the most populated and poorest countries and still wish to enjoy the luxuries that we simply can’t afford—–on top of this we don’t like to pay for anything, including our taxes or outstnading bills—-you know what I mean? Please, don’t feel personally atacked, ‘we’ include me as well as the rest of us right from the top all the way down to the lowest strata of our economy and segment of our society. It’s unfortunate but unfortunately true.
Uza,
You dont research before making any comments. Pakistan has 21000 MW of electricity producing capacity but due to the incompetence and bad governance of PPP govt. its hardly producing 12000 MW so the difference results in massive load shedding
Listen, do you think you need fuel / furnace oil to feed these power generating plants (most of them being ‘thermal power units’ )? If you agree with me that you do need to import oil to run and generate power then just think where the money is coming to buy all this oil. I’m not defending any corruption, or incompetence —–I’m just saying that we are asking for something that we can’t afford. PPP or anyone else can’t do anything if am a thief and taking something that is not mine, here electricity I’m referring to.
Answering to Uza Syed a reader like me we can call it lack of resources if major part of electricity is unpaid & the ministry is empty handed having no funds or the bills are unpaid to manage this electrical sector. Rather the unpaid bills of dacoits stealing electricity are also recovered from a common man. Details can be taken from any lineman assigned to take meter readings. Plus the govt has complete details of power generation, supply, stolen & unpaid units which it adjusts by fake inflation every month or whenever it requires, making a common man’s life miserable who is devoted to hard working day & night. When all this dogmatism is applied then the govt or PEPCO can’t claim any lack of resources or funds from any side. PPPP so far is the worst govt in Pakistan’s history setting records of mismanagement & corruption in all fields of life. May Almighty Allah forgive us all & get rid of this group of dacoits eating Pakistan in all fields of life & save Pakistan from any further damage by this failed group. Ameen.
Pakistan is not poor country at all. Pakistan is gifted with natural resources. It’s being made to look poor by corrupt rulers. Lets get it in our heads, the electricity crisis is nothing but a scam of PPP. We’ve enough electricity producing capacity vs demand but artificial crisis is being created by intentionally shutting down power plants or make them run at low capacity, so the government can make money through RPP, IPP scams etc. Keep in mind, it’s the government’s job to supply fuel but instead of spending on fuel, money is being spent on rental plants.
Same with gas, make false claims of shortage to make billions in LGP scam.
Asif Zardari owned Abraaj Capital owns KESC and he’s going to make sure it gets ransacked like PIA and Railway. Abraaj got hold of KESC without paying a cent but its minting millions through inflated bills paid by customers, getting energy concessions, taking loans through the government, raising tariffs against privatization agreement etc. Even after getting oil deals at lower rates on Zardari’s orders, getting away with non payment of dues, KESC claims to run at loss and intentionally reduces installed capacity to make more money.
No doubt the whole electricity crisis has been artificially created to hike rates and swindle money!!
