Pakistan’s Ban on Jamaat ud Dawa : A Timely Step
By Gul Raiz • Dec 11th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsAfter the Mumbai attacks, may be India tried to leverage the situation and put pressure on Pakistan, but the matter of the fact is that this is the golden chance for Pakistan to clear the country off the militancy. We have already seen the fire, blood and bloody ricochet of such non-sense strategy of cultivating militancy in our backyard of FATA, and the terrorism is now looming large all over the world.
Whether Jamaat-ud-Dawa or Lashkar-e-Taiba is involved in the Mumbai attacks or not, its an opportunity for the Pakistani government and yes the people to get rid of the militant factors and to show the world that they care and they are ready to fight and curb terrorism by their actions, and they are not going to be blackmailed or hijacked or smeared by some gangs who are giving Islam and Pakistan a bad name.
The resolutions of the security council of UN are binding and the urgency shown by the Pakistani government is very much pertinent and Pakistan should also move ahead and span this ban and crack down on other militant elements. We must not wait for the world to tell us what should be done.

I applaud your clear thinking and concern for well being of Pakistan state. It will only be served by rational thinking people like to realize that this is a cancer that’s needed to be removed. When enough Pakis will stand up and say not in my name, not in name of my grand religion that teaches bhaichara, will there me psychologic defeat of these extremist elements and both countries will proceed on path of progress focusing on taking their population out of poverty
