The Pakistani Spectator

These petty, so-called and puppet democratic elected governments come and go. They are just buffer zone for the real players to distract the people and to realign thier objectives while embarrassing each other. Pakistan’s establishment and the Washington has always known that they are the real brokers, and rest is just a farce and eyewash.

Political governments and politicians are just toys to be played with. Establishment uses them to convey hard and painful messages to the Washington and to appease the US people’s wish to see a democratic government in the third world whatever that means and however that gets hatched. US uses the political governments to exert pressure on the establishment.

Washington has become adept at reassuring the politicians that they are with them and would discourage any sort of coup and they are there to protect them if any such attempt is made. That never happens and at the end of the day, dictator get’s the approval from Washington with all the fanfare in the name of larger regional and world interest.

That is why the Americans are more interested in between the lines reaction from the establishment rather then the squeals uttered from our rubber stamp parliament, on every matter including the Kerry-Lugar Bill and its future.
