Pyramid of YPP:

Inform, Inspire, Invigorate, & Involve

Philosophy of YPP:

This program is based on building the future of youth of Pakistan on four pillars Inform, Inspire, Invigorate and Involve. The potential members of YP will have the qualities and the scientifically grounded training in character, scholarship, community service, leadership and citizenship.

Vision:

The Youth Parliament project is conceived, conceptualized and planned to execute with a vision to empower the youth of Pakistan with the ability to understand the importance of their role in community services and to nurture their leadership qualities.

Mission Statement:

The Youth Parliament (YP) is a non-profit, non-political, non-religious program initiated by Mr.Abrar-ul-Haq to foster and translate talent and excellence of adolescents and youths of Pakistan into tangible action and community service and in the process provide a nursery for scientifically trained leaders and citizens of character and substance. In the process the communitys abandoned, sick and unserved are linked and benefited in a relationship of symbiosis and interdependence with the youth of Pakistan.
Aims:

Following are the aims of the Youth Parliament;
1. To create rewards and opportunities to excite and stimulate the pursuance of scholarship, academic excellence, life-skills learning with sensitivity and reliance.
2. To provide opportunities that connect and link those with the talent, desire and skills for community service with those who need them.
3. To train and nurture leadership, citizenship and ability for governance in youth.
4. To develop character and strengthen moral fiber in the youth.
5. To foster tolerance, moderation, ingenuity and self reliance.
6. To inculcate demcrtac values in the youth of Pakistan. .

Rationale:

Pakistan currently has the largest cohort of young people in its history and subsequent cohorts are projected to be even larger. More than half of Pakistans population comprises of individuals less than twenty years and 25 million aged 15-24. This huge populace includes young adolescents and youth full of energy, oozing with enthusiasm and patriotism with a brain full of ideas, a heart filled with sensitivity and a mind bursting with dreams of a brighter tomorrow for self, the community and the country. The robust bodies and able minds of todays Pakistani youth however remain unbridled, unguided and without a clear vision for life and opportunities for the application of their energies for a greater cause or community service. The consequent agitated, frustrated soul in the unstructured and chaotic environment where morals and values are fast getting diluted finds solace in negative pursuits in the absence of leadership, a level playfield of opportunities and tangible well-defined roles and activities. They wobble on unsteady grounds of life without a proper direction & vision.

On the other hand is a fairly large section of the society of the old, the underprivileged, the impoverished victims who for one reason or another find themselves abandoned, sick and unserved. These forsaken and deserted individuals fight a loosing battle of their dignity and self-esteem as silent spectators at the mercy of insensitive relatives and an indifferent community that has no institutions for their care, patronage, protection or guardianship. These abandoned souls were once useful, productive potent members of our community but today are without a fixed abode, are lonely and without any economic, social or emotional support. Then are the sick and wounded in hospitals, the bonded laborers, the children without opportunities for learning and the victims of violence and exploitation; all of them are without a SAHARA.

Target Group:

The Youth Parliament (SYP) will target youth within the age bracket of 15 to 35.

Just as Abrar-ul-Haq has announced the formation of First Youth Parliament of Pakistan, TPS is proud to be in his effort hand in hand. Just within hours of his announcing the First Youth Assembly of Pakistan, we received an over-whelming response from all the nooks and corners of the country. I discussed the formation of Youth Parliament initially here.

The major question which is being asked in this regard is how the people can become the part of Youth Parliament, and how will the registration would go. Well, in the comments of this post, you people could give your particulars, and we will send it to Youth Parliament Organizers. If required by the organizers of Youth Assembly, we would ask for more information.

I, Amna Gilani, is just doing it because I love my country from the inner core of my heart, and I really am moved by this idea of Youth Parliament. In this way, I want to contribute my humble share in this Youth Parliament. If Ibrar likes, I would use this platform of TPS for his Youth Movement.
