NRO Hubbub
By Rohail Butt • Nov 22nd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsAs the 28th November approaches, the nation prepares for the Eid to sacrifice the animals while many political pundits are predicting some high profile sacrifices too after this day, as NRO protection will expire on 28th too.
What has the official announcement of the NRO beneficiaries’ list achieved? It surely has divulged nothing new as we all knew about the cases and the culprits. What it has done is that it exposed the liars. Many stalwarts of the PPP earlier claimed with all the anger in the world that their names weren’t present in the NRO list and they had their cases got cleared from the courts.
As Sindh minister Afzal Sindhu tabled the list to public, all those leaders of PPP have ended up with eggs on their faces. These leaders more or less comprise of the whole government. Ex-minister for commerce and presently Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, Nawab Yousaf Talpur ex-MNA and former minister, the Interior Minister, Rehman Malik, Ex-secretary information and presently Pakistan’s ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani, and many more.
What should these people do? I would say that they should just return the money they plundered, offer a national apology and go in oblivion. Because if they go to the courts, the things will linger on for years and then some new NRO will come out and we, the poor Pakistan will never get our money back.

When any society is found immersed that deep in its self created curses that the only way out is that it repents its doing earnestly. For which some Maestro like Nelson Mandela of South Africa may emerges and leads and bring the nation to a verge and make them realize that their only way out is that they very honestly repent for their doings—- and beg this nation to pardon them that—- there after they may be able to come out clean.
The sole idea of repentance by South African to come out clean was that;…once they all agreed; the apartheid oppressing forces as well as the Black community… that they were indulging in all sorts of despicable atrocities—– an order was chalked out which was called the ‘Reconciliation through Justice’. People were pardoned for their previous doings on their admittance of crimes and thus —reconciliation was reached.
But in Pakistan above recipe was not used to achieve a ‘Reconciliation through Justice’ but to puff this hype in order to use it— specific to certain categories of peoples in order to clear their rout in to come and grab the seat of power to be vacated by Musharraf who was told by our masters—USA to quit and hand over.
The prime aim of this ‘puffing’ of NRO was to craft wings for few to come ridding —-and land safely….. And that they got it. When this was the aim——then this job be said as ‘done and dusted’. But the Ironically may be that this nation has already accepted those NRO wing riders as their leaders then what is this bickering all about?
What is this jugglery of words and useless exercise being carried out on TV channels and what is this finding of some morale grounds in it? What a waste of time?

This year 28th November The day the muslims will scarifice animal in the name of Allah almighty which is known to be Eid e Qurban
This year 29th November The day the Black Law NRO vanishes and Siyasi Qurbani should start in the name of the people of Pakistan Insha Allah.
