No Drone Attack During Hilary Clinton Visit
By Dr. Hassan Isfahani • Oct 31st, 2009 • Category: Politics • No ResponsesThe people of Federally Administered Tribal regions of Pakistan must be wishing in thier hearts that the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton remain in Pakistan for as long as possible or forever, as it will save them from the fatal Drone Attacks.
Hillary Clinton has said that the United States was not losing the war in Afghanistan, but acknowledged “the Taliban has momentum” in the eight-year-old conflict. While she is here, she has got a golden chance to understand that terrorists are not synonymous to the tribal. She need to understand the core reason as why despite of suffering through the hands of terrorists, the Pakistanis including the tribal abhor the US and its policies, and despite of all these long years, US has gained any advantage in this war.
Has our politicos and journalists made it clear that use of power is not the solution of problems and drone attacks creating hatred in FATA and in rest of the Pakistan? It is the need of hour to establish Pak-US ties on the basis of mutual trust. Pakistan had been an important ally of the US and the two countries had cooperated on many key global issues, but Pakistan has always felt betrayed and neglected, and this regime of Obama must bring in change to this nexus also, and that is the message which Hilary should take back home.
