Nawaz Sharif Protecting Zardari
By Rohail Butt • Nov 16th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 CommentsRemember the days of the movement for the restoration of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry just earlier this year, when the Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif was roaring on the G.T Road from Lahore to Rawalpindi and bashing president Asif Ali Zardari on NRO. He called Zardari a cheater and a corrupt politician and he also also claimed that Zardari was using NRO to protect his corruption and fraud.
Now the same Nawaz Sharif says that the President enjoys immunity under the Constitution and the courts will reach a verdict in the backdrop of this fact. Nawaz Sharif pointed out that the matter of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) is subjudice.
That is highly gross and hypocritical. Nawaz Sharif has probably made a deal with Zardari in order to get a third term for himself as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. That is why he always keep on twisting the arms of the government and then become mellow as he doesn’t want to topple the government because he won’t get such a vulnerable opponent in the future.

What do you want Mr. Butt? Do you want Nawaz to lead a long march like chaos? Well that would be the last thing we need in such turbulent times.
Though I’m not a fan f Mr. Sharif, yet its good that he’s not trying to derail a democratically elected coalition government of PPP, MQM and ANP. And it is undoubtedly in best interest of the country!
Sharif’s are two headed snake?
news like this can create so much misunderstanding. This is all mere media propaganda just to create thrill and sell themselves to the nation and make money of their innocence. This is why so many people now in the nation think that the media is not playing a good role in the current situation of Pakistan. A recent survey by the Gilani research Foundation proved tha almost 57 % people think that the media is not trustworthy. You guys should check this survey out as it is very informative and interesting!!

I think there was no need of such cock-and-bull story considering that who is standing with whom. It is high time we should get united as the Pakistan is passing through critical stage and we cannot afford confrontation or point scoring at this moment. I think Nawaz Sharif’s stance not be part of any attempt to topple this democratically elected government is commendable. One has to give due credit to Nawaz Sharif. Other political parties must also know that leading cat-and-dog live and always quarrelling on petty issues would be devastating. At the same time President Zardari’s role about strengthening democratic norms is also laudable.
