Nawaz Sharif in Gilgit-Baltistan
By Haris Hashmi • Nov 2nd, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponseMian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, quaid Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) PML-N has at last mustered some courage and defying the King of Saudi Arabia. He is visiting, after a long ten years, Gilgit-Baltistan.
Lots has been said and written over the Nawaz Sharif’s inactivity on the national political horizon. He hasn’t gone to Sindh and Balochistan and has visited NWFP just for once in a decade. That’s one hell of a time for a leader who likes to tout himself as national leader and is Prime Minister in waiting.
Well, there is no doubt that his life is under threat, but then the life of every Pakistani is under threat. It’s true that he has to be wary of his security, but that’s the way things are here in the motherland upon which Mian aspires to rule in perhaps near future. He has to get out of his paradise and safe heaven of Jati Umra.
Visiting Gilgit Baltistan is a welcome step, and he should be visiting Sindh, Balochistan and other parts of the country, if he wants to call himself a leader.

Something is better than nothing
The critical area these days we are neglecting is Baluchistan which now turning into active volcanoes in coming days as too much military operation done under FC men is creating lot of tension among different communities there.
All main stream leaders are intently or unintentional neglecting this grave situation under the sold parliament.
