My Problem With Imran KhanBy Maria Sultan • Nov 10th, 2011 • Category: Politics • 12 Comments
These days it might not be the most popular post but then who cares
Anyway, jesting apart, I am very much doubtful about the campaign of putting Imran Khan as the savior of the nation. If you step back a little and glance at the whole picture, you should see the replication of past event. Similar threads would be found in this fabric of Imran Khan, which were present in the formation of that sweeping and resounding popularity of Bhutto and IJI not that much long ago.
It is childish to believe that this all-of-a-sudden success of Imran Khan is somewhat natural process. Nothing happens in Pakistan without the consent and manipulation of GHQ, at least not these days and in the past. Imran is the only and last horse left in the armour of the army, and they have decided to use him.
He is the perfect choice to threaten America, while putting up a Oxonian image of Pakistan. He has no political depth and he is gullible and lacks the political maturity and a great temporary arrangement until the military forces regain their composure for yet another coup.
