Musharraf Starts Appearing on TV Screens

By Haris Hashmi • Sep 13th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 38 Comments

After getting assurances from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that no one is going to hang him, former dictator Pervez Musharraf is also checking his chances to actively take part in politics of Pakistan, first from London and then if the response gets warm, from Pakistan. He has tasted the power, and like his predecessors, he would do anything to have it again.

These days Musharraf is trying to make US happy. After the colossal failure of current government in terms of governance and everyother thing, the power brokers are evaluating alternative options. Musharraf is speaking tough against the terrorism, and even has wished in one interview that if given the chance once again, he would come hardest at the terrorists in FATA.

On the other hand, Balochistan High Court has approved Akbar Bugti murder case petition for hearing and summoned former dictator General (r) Pervez Musharraf and former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on October 7.

At ARYONEWORLD TV channel, Musharraf is getting quite an airtime. He has rattling down interviews, and offering his opinions and guidance to the present government. Also many dissident PML-Q members are meeting with the Musharraf, and there are also some people who want to once again bring Musharraf as president of some sort of broad based national government.

  1. Jiyae Musharaff,,We do need a BOLD leader like him to run the country and for that matter if there are One million Akbar Bugti’s He needs to kill them on SPOT. Akbar Bugti is a TRAITOR he and his several sons are taking laws in there own hand from 1952 trying to harm the country. Bhutto also took the action against these traitors. These are TWO headed snakes.

  2. So what is wrong in it?. Everybody has a right to give his comments on any issues. Musharraf has always taken tough stance on terrorism whether it makes US happy or not. Bugti’s elimination is one such example that proves his faithfulness with the country and not with the US. US was not happy on his demise. Bugti was the big traitor and his elimination was another feather in the cap of Musharraf. Bugti blackmailed all the previous governments and those hypocrite politicians could not stop him. He became monster and was very suitably handled by Musharraf.
A vast majority of the people of Pakistan from all walks of life, including the politicians (except the ones with personal grudge) want him back and lead from the front.
Time is not very far, when he will return and serve this tattered country. We all have big hopes with him and pray for his well being.

  3. Islamabad officials are signaling for some change in November or musharf and CO is trying their best to shuffle the govt as per their desire.Army managers are in difficult situation after exposure of XE activities in all over the country.
Swat people also showing dissatisfaction on govt people as no rehabilitation plans are still being seen on govt level.Appearance of ex IB and ex ISI men on TV and chasing anti musharf people are not signs of good omen so lets see how situation is building but our army men are not in good mood.

  4. lets see how bold he is when he doesnot have the same power an privelges when he was a army chief .he also has no backing or army.he is now another bloody civilian right now

  5. ……no more effective than zradari or nawazsharif,…and he cant have opponents jailed becuz he doesnt like them….and he cant play the army card now…..

  6. ……now he will have to real politics becuz he is not a general anylonger…..his psyche wouldnt allow him to be humiliated………..i predict he would quit very soon

  7. It would be his last effort to prove his strength in Pakistan establishment.Actually one has to think why he is desperate of coming back to country where he was ousted with humiliation. It is his and his huge bank balance that is forcing him to come back and spend in the line of fire for getting top seat to secure himself from article 6 and to earn more which he is spending on his advertisment for last 8 months.
So I think our president seat is placed on FOR SALE status in Washington DC and all rich ,influentials and corrupt are invited to come and get it from US.

  8. Ab sab ki bolti band ho jaegi. HA HA HA
Isi bat sey dartey the ke Musharraf aa gia tau humara kia hoga, SOHNIEY
    ASSI KE TUSSI,
    LASSI DE KUSSY

  9. Please AOM
bring your scare crow back to country we are anxiously waiting him in our court rooms.Last time NRO team and his cronies had saved him from real law of state by dodging whole nation .But this time we are ready. You know like your minded people are trying to scare us that this time in coming coup we couldnt be allowed to come to street as you did last time in march.I am replying you like them that dont try to mess with us as we are trained law marcher having no fear of consequences and will raise the law of state in our hand to catch these scare crows on the spot this times as now army house is not vacant to secure any more general. So lets see that our ambition for making our homeland as lawful state will take an edge or not on the lovable sentiments of lovers of a military dictator.

  10. by the way what you are saying in our punjabi
    ASSI KE TUSSI,
    LASSI DE KUSSY
sir please if you don’t know our punjabi please dont demolish our beautiful punjabi for your poetic expression and try to be limited in your lovely urdu in which you are expert.Punjabi usually suits on the faces of pure fluent punjabi but you see we are very retort in our urdu too so you can express your taunts in cursive Urdu or in form of unexplainable and inconceivable English on poor students like us.

  11. I think people like Musharraf and all his followers are to think positively. Peoples elected by Pakistani public have right to run the country. Let us wait until their term have finished.

  12. Nazia! yar tum bhee nan! Have you listned the talk shows going in Mushraffs favour. I think they should feel shame when supporting a dictator. By the way we are not afraid from Mush or any other dictator, but let him come through right path. We will salute him, if Pakistani public will elect him.

  13. The US must be positively ecstatic with the zardari govt. They’ve gotten everything they could ever dream of. Complete freedom to carry out drone attacks, license to build a fortress sized embassy and weaken Pakistan from the inside. What could Musharraf possibly do to make the americans more happy? Forget about good governance. No government in Pakistan’s history has ever provided good governance. And anyway the americans couldn’t care less about the welfare of Pakistanis. The only way Musharraf is going to come back into power is if the army takes over again.

  14. Dear Friends,

The post states: ‘Musharraf Starts Appearing on TV Screens’

    What—?

When was the time that man was absent from TV screens. He was always there not only in Pakistan but all over the world—-matter of the fact is that he has never been ignored.

They say the living elephant is worth a million—but its value is even enhanced to million plus when it is dead. In case of Musharraf while in power he was just president of Pakistan; generally known as an unworthy US proxy who was surviving on US vim and there was a ‘taunt and a whip’— for Pakistan’s stance taken on the war against terrorism.

After leaving of his office; realistically speaking he is the only one who against all the odds has deservingly earned a credit of a clean chit for his handing over the rein of government to politician as per his chalked out plan and with the national coffer full of wealth.

Yes– people have tried to create a serious turmoil in the country to mark their personal political gains and for their rapacious greed——–that when he was seen moving toward his exit—-the groups with whom he struck a deal of hand over and his exit—happened to be people who proved to be not a trust worthy group. The betrayed him and wanted to entangle him in serious cases like treason etc. Consequently, he was forced to promulgate even emergency to secure a clean exit which he did achieve but regrets.

Sadly the joint movement of Nawaz Sharif of PML-N and CJP to entangle him for treason for promulgation of emergency and to hold his trial under Article 6 of constitution with the aim to award him death sentence—but they have miserably failed; Rather trap setters have themselves find theselves entangled in the trap they set for Musharraf.

(Trap set against Musharraf of his 3rd November 2007 action has since stands extended to Oct 1999 when present CJP and others must be chraged for abetting under the same article 6 with clause a b and c —plus Brig Imtiaz DG IB known as brig Billa breaking of his silence has entangled even Nawaz Sharif for his treason when he was prime minister in 1992.)

Badalta hey Rang Asmaan kaisey kaisey?

  15. # 15 above

Sorry for some grammatical typo–s toward the end

  16. khokar you say
Trap set against Musharraf of his 3rd November 2007 action has since stands extended to Oct 1999 when present CJP and others must be charged for abetting under the same article 6 with clause a b and c —plus Brig Imtiaz DG IB known as brig Billa breaking of his silence has entangled even Nawaz Sharif for his treason when he was prime minister in 1992.)
Kindly clear your high profile hypothesis in favour of our military dictator.

Who set this trap of 3rd nov as he himself promulgated this ordinance by consulting only his army friends and then openly declared that he did this unconstitutional act for ..?..
So you want to say he himself created trap with his generals?
Why he didnt charged CJP with any article of PCO while he was confined in house arrest with his family by his orders.?
Why he missed a treason charge on sharif in 1992 and just mad an funny murder case against him.
Whole world saw that he harassed a confined , trapped and helpless PM by his generals,
You see Gen mehmood was on the front line when he was doing all illegal mess.
Now that man is so guilty of his acts that he is not coming out of his preaching den from raiwand sanctuary,Before this he was our pure general fond of wine women, dance and music party, and playing bridge and gambling with his boss.
So why he missed to punish sharif as per state law.?
You are trying to back a person who even never followed his fabricated laws in a system.

  17. Musharraf will be back Inshallah. Pakistan needs this man. As far as those who have wishful thinking of standing in courts with summons, they must open their eyes and wait to see that between judges and solicitors as we say in Urdu ‘jooti un main daal batney wali hay’.

  18. Nazia,

I heard that punjabi is the language of sikhs. Do you have anything your own?

  19. Dear Nazia and Friends,

Nazia; I never thought that you are that ignorant of the facts. I supposed you knew that Ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 14 years of Rigorous Imprisonment by court of law of Pakistan under the penal code act of Pakistan and a fine on committing the crime of treason when he ordered and got hijacked the plane of COAS arriving from Siri Lanka and bared its landing within the territories of Pakistan.

Later on that when this criminal was serving his sentence; in view of a diplomatic move made through the king of Saudi Arabia a formal request was made to president Musharraf to pardon him. A deal was sruck and an agreement was signed where by Nawaz sharif committed in writing to stay away from this land for ten years where he committed this heinous crime. The sentence as such was not categorically omitted but a pardon by the president under his auspice authority was ganted as per the agreement. After reaching Saudi Arabia he was confined to his limited activities but he was allowed to set up his business. Reportedly he set up a steel mill in Jedah was granted.

Later in 2007 when he tried to come back in Pakistan; he was turned back to Saudi Arabia because that agreement duration was not yet finished. Any how he was finally allowed to come back in Pakistan—when a NRO was chalked out to allow the self exile leaders like BB as well as Nawaz Sharif to come back and go through the process of elections and take over the rein of government. And yes— Musharraf did hand over as per the eligibility of candidates. Nawaz Sharif having a conviction at his hand could not contest the elections but his party did participate happily. PML-N all of them took oath in the parliament under Musharraf.

I hope this may suffice for the time being….!

    regards

  20. Khokar.
Please read my lines carefully was he treated as per state law or law mad in GHQ by his friends
This was our state law to acquit a criminal of treason on the request of Saudi king.Along with pardon , he was sent to exile with his whole family and wealth.Where this punishment is written in our state law.
God forbid if it happened in all cases then what will this state call if our criminalS on treason and murder are allowed to free by kings and head of other state.
By which law this 10 year exit from politics is justified in our law books.Wasn’t it signed under the pressure of gun to a confined man.?
Why he was convicted alone and other six made free?
What was the nature of show as vindication that could be dissolve by the request of saudi .please show me which state law say this.
For your revival I am giving you link of authentic news channel for the case in which speedy justice was given to ex PM under the court of martial law and then took speedy decison on the request of king of our holy land to free a murderer who also hold treason charges.
I am not given you latest SC and sindh high court verdict that on what legal basis they were acquitted as you would say it is biased and done after restoration of judiciary.
but read these links and then justify the justice done by musharf court
