  1. Dear Tariq these verses don’t forbid from doing research or getting information from history books. Present some verse from the Holy Quran that prohibits research. Can you???

  2. salam
Quran clearly states that knowledge provided to the prophet is purely divine and give the reason that this person(the prophet) is raised in front of you .you know very well that he can not read and write. If he could do so you would blame him that he read some books of Jews and Christians and know claming himself as a divine knowledge holder. So it is not prohibited to research but in case of prophet hood it is a sort of weakness on behalf of prophet to relay on the human resource of knowledge. On the other hand quran invite an ordinary person to explore the things travel the world and see and off course read the history and compare the knowledge provided by the prophet and any one will find the truth
In the nut shell one can say that knowledge provided by the prophet is pure correct trustworthy and reliable. On the other hand knowledge provided by other human kind is not pure hundred percent correct and trust worthy, chances of human error, lack of knowledge, and difference of opinion make this source dubious.
