MQM calls for action against ‘patrons of Talibans in Karachi’ Updated at: 2314 PST, Sunday, May 10, 2009
KARACHI: The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has demanded of the Army Chief and Head of ISI to take action against organization for what it said patronizing the activities of Taliban in Karachi.A statement of MQM issued here on Sunday said: “Action be taken against Awami National Party (ANP) leaders of Sindh who are supporting Talibanization and activities of Taliban.”
The Coordination Committee of MQM also alleged that some government officials associated with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are also involved in these activities. “Even President Asif Ali Zardari has failed to end links of its party members with the criminal elements,” it said.
The MQM statement said these officials of ANP and government are receiving kickbacks from land mafia, drug mafia and arms mafia and explicitly supporting their illegal activities.
“MQM Chief Altaf Hussaind shared the details of activities of these people with the President Asif Ali Zardari during their meeting and despite assurances by the latter the land mafia, drug mafia and arms mafia continue to carry out their illegal business,” the statement further alleged.
This just goes to show the level of thinking of the ultimate Mafia chief in Pakistan.An ethnic problem is being created in Karachi,the country largest commercial hub…and a lucrative business site of MQM bhatta campaign.I wonder why.Is it a turf war.Does Atlfat hussain feels threatened that his domination over his own party and his reign of terror is about to end.Grouping all the pashtoons in a single category i.e Taliban is not the right thing.Those Pustoon are as much a part of Pakistan as is the Urdu speaking community.(Atleast pushtoons except for ANP are very Pro Pakistan).This is contrast to MQM whose leader called the creation of Pakistan a mistake.MQM has never backed off from blackmailing any government be it Pervaiz mushaarf or zardari.What you see in this news article is exactly that.Now coming to the links between some political parties and the Taliban.While this might be true but the level of the threat is over exaggerated.MQM itself has all links between the criminal underworld and they have the audacity of accusing other parties.Again I personally think MQM is trying to adopt a point scoring strategy so that it can incite more Pustoonicide in Karachi.If MQM calls itself the party of the federation then it should behave like a resposnsible party and adopt a cool minded approach instead of blaming everything on the pushtoons.And last but not the least everybody should know we are pakistanis first and sindhi balochis pushtoon punjabi mohahir etc later.Its not the other way around.

MQM has initially donated around Rs. 5 Million for the relief of Pakhtoon Brothers and Sisters who have been made homeless by Taliban Terrorists. Quaid-e-Tehrik Altaf Hussain Bhai has appealed to all Patriotic Pakistanis to come forward and help our Pakhtoon Brothers in any way they can. Moreover MQM has also coordinated its efforts with National Disaster Management Authority, so as to provide food supplies, tents, and other basic necessities for our brothers. MQM may even set up its own relief camps in NWFP, to facilitate our brothers in need. Quaid Altaf Bhai has already urged immediate action in this regard.
Remember the 2005 Earthquake? MQM won the hearts and minds of the people of Azad Kashmir, through its large-scale relief efforts, which areprecedented in Pakistani history. And in the next election in Azad KAshmir, the people expressed their love and support for MQM, by electing a number of MQM representatives to the AJK Legislature.
So Javed Akram just shut up and stop your poisonous ethnic propaganda. MQM is the 3rd largest national political party and has millions of supporters across the country

Firstly, Imran Khan wasn’t banned from entering Karachi because of his ’shameful adulterer history’.
He was banned because he intended to take out a rally, which could serve as the starting point for inciting violence in the metropolis. Imran Khan had earlier on a number of occasions expressed his explicit intent to incite hatred for his political opponents by wrongly portraying them as being responsible for regretful incidents of May 12, 2007. Now why is this playboy playing dirty politics, by hurting the feelings of so many innocents whose loved ones lost their lives in that carnage?
And what about the incident wherein gangster Imran Khan resorted to physically attacking a respect and patriotic gentleman of the calibre of Professor Hoodbhoy, and that too, right on the set of a popular TV Show?
As for the GEO Programme, this is what Dr. Hoodbhoy has to say about how Imran Khan resorted to physical violence:

@Author: is obviously following Imran’s thinking to try to label MQM against the pathan’s. But yar, sorry to say its not going to work. ANP is NOT represenation of the Pakhtoons, hence MQM’s stand against ANP remains valid. Have you seen the episode where Zaid Hamid exposed the ANP for their motives behind Pakhtoonkhuwa? maybe not.. so only in order to give the Talibanization an ethnic colour and divert the attention of the media from SWAT to Karachi.. your true motives are exposed! MQM is the only party that is organized to help these IDP’s, and MQM will show you all that it is done what we have opted for… and this stops at rehabilitations. I think the ANP and their Taliban brothers have killed more Pathans than in any other incident. Why dont these people cry for them. ITs going on everyday over there!
What’s so wrong with MQM’s statement? As a Pashtun I support them because I know that MQM is a reactionary force and obviously not against Pashtoons…Unfortunately there are people who brings nationalism to everything ; be it sport or anything else…kindly do not divide us any further!

And as far ANP is concerned …to be really honest , they are racist political party, recently i have watched the video of their leader in which he directly insult the gr8 mothers,who lost their son’s and all the person who lost their families during migration ….he is real racist man and his party too.

one explaination would be party donations
you yourself said that MQM is made up of lower and middle class people, and NO LANDLORDS or SETHS
but
if a person has 10 rupees then he may donate 1-2 rupees to the needy, depending on his own requirement
this means that MQM must be having billions , after all MQM must have kept something to run the party operations
