Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig versus Waqar Mannoo
By Haris Hashmi • Apr 19th, 2010 • Category: Misc • No ResponsesFormer APTMA chairman and industrialist Waqar Mannoo and the Baig brothers — Adviser to Ministry of Industries for Textile Dr Ikhtiar Baig and his younger brother Mirza Ishtiaq Baig — have lodged cases against each other for torture and use of abusive language.
SHO, Drakhshan Police Station, Inspector Haji Sanaullah, said Waqar Mannoo, Dr Ikhtiar Baig and Ishtiaq Baig had gone to the residence of APTMA Chairman Anwar Tata in DHA to settle a dispute between them. The police official said the differences widened and the meeting ended on a quarrel between the two parties.
Later, Waqar Mannoo lodged FIR No 231/10, alleging that Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig and their 12 companions used abusive language and tortured him. Meanwhile, the Baig brothers also lodged an FIR No 233/10, blaming that Waqar Monnoo and his companions used abusive language against and manhandled them. The police, after registering the cases, have started investigating the matter.
