Mian Brothers’ Disqualification; Need to Defuse Tension?

By Farid Masood • Mar 1st, 2009 • Category: Politics • 22 Comments

Main brothers disqualified by the court, consequently government of Punjab dissolved. This decision, like March 9, 2007, shall have a far-reaching impact on national political horizon. This decision has axed the position of Mr President at large because people in general are already against him and such decision would decline his popularity below 14%.

Mr Prime Minister shall be affected in general, who is political personality was instructing MNAs and MPA of his party to stop playing political badminton with PML(N), Whereas, President didn’t forbid Governor Punjab. Time, being not right for such decision, hard for Pakistan internally and externally. Some part of this decision must be born by MQM also, which is coalition partner in the center and ‘birds of the same feathers’ with the President.

Some moths ago, I came to know the President Zardari wants that his name must be written in the history of Pakistan, I thought that his name has been written being President of Pakistan along with the of famous personalities like Akbar Bugti, Pervaiz Musharraf, Aimel Qansi, Justice Dogar, etc but why not we write his name with golden & glowing words?

We have seen protests in almost major constituencies of Pakistan (all four provinces), this tension shall increase with the days to come. The time needs to defuse the tension, and a biggest card in the President’s pocket is to re-instate Mr Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as Chief Justice of Pakistan. This move from him shall defuse lawyer movement to prevent heads on collision, win general public opinion and shall isolate Mian brothers politically. Remaining time of his, as President, seems to be consuming on re-building his public posture and affected rapport.

  1. Nobody is beneficiary but themselves are losers because of their antagonistics behaviour wether Gulam Ishaq Khan, Farooq Leghari, Jehangir Karamet, Pervez Musharraf, Sajjad Ali Shah, Benazir, Altaf Hussain, Asif Zardari.

The best place for them to live is SAUDI ARABIA.

    KHAS KAM JEHAN PAK.

When they were not here it was good going as soon as they came back to Pakistan everything gone wrong

  2. What is the big deal?

Thieves must be called thieves; there is no other word for robbers, thugs are thugs and political jokers are just that. Stop mourning for them. No hell is breaking loose. If anyone failed to read the writings on the wall, the fault lies with her/his political illiteracy. What is so unusual about this is in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan. Nawaz with this gang of illegitimate leaders in his goverment under his party’s rule had exercised this power and Governor Rule was promulgated in the Province of Sindh. The then Prime Minister Nawaz, with usurped Dictatorial powers, had appointed a General by the name Moin-uddin-Haider, governor of Sindh. They had managed to violate the constitutional limitation on Governor Rule for a maximum period of 6 months by extending to 8 months. I mean what made Nawaz’s action then legitimate and declaration of Governor Rule now illegal, why this multiple standard about Rule of Law. Frankly, I think justice is still not fully done. I wish to see him and his gang prosecuted for murders of political opponents in the name of “police encounters” and ‘extra-judicial killings’. I very much hope and pray to God that there are some action replays and there are again some such “police encounters” and this time this gang of looters and usurpers are the target. This is a logical ‘tit for tat’ reaction. This will be ideal outcome of this so caled ‘political turmoil’. Like AOM has said above :

Khas Kam Jehan Pak (Insha Aallah!)

  3. Fareed sahib, The people of Pakistan have always wondered that what is the “real reason” behind Zardari’s intransigence for not restoring pre-Nov 3 judiciary and why he is risking a sharp decline in his personal and his party’s popularity by holding Dogar close to his chest.

    Time has provided us some clues and answers of some questions which have been striking in every Pakistani mind;

THEORY NO. 1; USA IS AGAINST RESTORATION OF JUDICIARY.
ANSWER. Zardari orchestrated release of Dr. A. Q. Khan through a court after striking a deal. This infuriated the USA and the Western capitals as they openly criticized this decision. In eyes of the world. Dr. Khan is an outlaw.
MORAL; Zardari can take some steps (though at limited scale) without consent of the Americans and NATO allies. If Zardari restores the sacked judges, USA or any other country can not show displeasure, on record, against the restoration.

THOERY 2: ARMY DOES NOT WANT RESTORATION OF JUDICIARY
ANSWER: In present day circumstances, Army is under tremendous pressure. It is taking and it will take a breather for at least an year time after Musharraf’s mis-rule which damaged the institution beyond repair. Washington and GHQ, Rawalpindi can not dissuade Zardari to restore CJP and his colleagues.
MORAL; It is not GHQ/Army which impedes the restoration.

    THEORY 3; NRO
ANSWER: CJP Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary is not a militant who would hold his hand on collars of Zardari on issue of NRO the moment he got restored. He is a sane and realistic person and he has been a compromising man in his whole career with exception of March 9, 2007 when he courageously refused to bog down.
MORAL: NRO is not an issue now. CJP would not touch such sensitive issues because Zardari is now in the Presidency which yield immunity against any criminal proceedings as long as he holds the coveted office.

After rejecting all 3 theories, now let us think what can be the possible reason for earning bad name, by reneging on words, by infuriating the literate populace of the country.

In my opinion, Zardari has a fear that if any independent and fair judicial inquiry is held about murder of Benazir Bhutto, something may………………………………..GUESS WHAT.. I wish time may prove my conjectures as wrong.

  4. As Mr. Naeem Sidhu says above, about retired justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, in his ‘Theory 3; NRO’ and I quote, “…..he has been a compromising man in his whole career……..”

Now, there you said it all. Tell me, when someone has been a “comprising man” all his life then what has changed now, how should I or anyone can trust that he will not compromise again against the best national interests. He had compromised with the so called ‘dictator’ and his PCO many times before, didn’t he. What’s the source of his sudden ‘courage’? what makes you think that the man will not become “compromising” again?

Naeem Sahab, all of these thugs must go, they all must go!

We are a 170 million strong. We will find competent, honest and sincere public servants, have no fear. We just have to trust our strength, this is our country and we can not let these gangsters be masters of our fate anymore. We must not make the mistakes like our fathers and their’s before them. It is already 62 years too late, however we can secure our Pakistan from the clutches of these mafia gangs. They are too few, we are too many, alone our resolution would chase them way. Just try it, try to come out of this campaign of emotional blackmail.

  5. Ch. Naeem Sahib following is for your attention, it’s self-explanatory :

Here we go again ( Ardeshir Cowasjee - Sunday, 01 Mar, 2009)

“THE Supreme Court under the able leadership of Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, chief justice of this most elegant of Republics and its peerless leadership, has seen fit to rule that the Brothers Sharif, Nawaz and Shahbaz, by means of their own acts and deeds, have disqualified themselves from holding public office.
That there are hundreds of their brethren in politics who are more than deserving of the same fate — from the highest to lowest — has so far escaped the attention of the apex court.
However, now ‘lines have been drawn’ and the battle is so far on for the top-dog slot (though knowing the local inconsistencies of friendship and enmity it is not inconceivable that the adversaries will at some stage fall into each other’s arms). …….
……… Let us not forget former COAS Gen Wahid Kakar who in 1993, without raising a stick or moving a brigade saw off, calmly and peacefully, both president and prime minister.”

ALLOW ME HERE TO DEMAND MY OWN SINCERE WISH: Mr. COAS, whoever and with whatever name, this time around equally “calmly and peacefully” but really firmly, please, please make sure that all of these gangsters are seen off for ever and ever.

  6. Musharraf, Come back we badly need you

  7. AOM

GET LOST we badly DONT need you (or your stupid general ! why dont you go and marry him ! )

  8. AOM

a painduu (villager) going someplace fell into a hole, badly bruised, got out and went to his destination, While returning when the villager saw the hole , he said himeself “aab iss main phir girna paray ga!” (”Oh Dear ! now I’ll have to fall into the hole again!”).

the democracy we have in Pak is the right thing the wrong way
the dictatorship you want is the wrong thing the wrong way
rather than doing the the right thing the right way why do you wish to repeat the previous mistakes?

    Best regards

  9. This is the only option left and chosen, time is on our side and it demands that : All of them must go!

Shall we also so demand - All of them must go!

  10. @ VCI? what is this ? is it some kinda viral infection? or is it some kind of veneral disease? is it contagious? Please, someone, help the readers understand its dangers.

  11. I wonder why we stoop to personal attacks just because someone doesn’t agree on our choice of ‘politicians’! There is really no use fighting over them. Hark! What do they care, all of them? They are ruining us and here we are picking out on each other! Give it a break guys!
As for AOM, I think you should strongly confirm your information on Musharraf! If the guy did something to win your eternal love, do please inform me!
I, for one, would never ever like the man who sold our Pakistani brothers to America and prowled the land acknowledging the act with no sense of conciousness! Infact he was bristling with pride, enough to name the people and the money he got in return in his despicable book ‘In The Line of Fire’!

  12. Why personalities, what else? What kind of wisdom of fools is this? In politics it is people and personalities, no matter how dirty and how dishonest, however you are dealing with people.

It is fine to get rid of the rats destroying our roots, even if they have us believe that they are ours. They are not. They are nobody’s. They are terrorists and they are criminals, they are mercenaries who would kill any innocent Pakistani for money and pretend to be doing it in he name of religion.

As far as ‘In The Line of Fire’ is concerned, political literatutre did not begin or ended with it; there are tons of books and authors pointing out the fact that you have terrorists among us. You may close your eyes, if that suits you, however facts won’t disappear.

Who brought Musharraf at the top bypassing his seniors like Ali Kuli Khan? Why I ask? Because Ali Kuli Khan would have advised them where to climb upto, had they tried to misaround with him with their numbskulls. Simply because the perception among this ‘Heera Mandi brigade’ was that Musharraf being a mohajir would take orders like the rest of the cohorts they had around them at that time in form of shameless Tarars, Saif Ur Rehmans, Wajeehs, the Khwaja Asifs and and and and. Remember, what they did to the Supreme Court and its then Chief Justice Syed Sajjad Ali Shah (November 1997 Islamabad, Pakistan!!!).

  13. Aftab, You are superb.
I think you are enough to respond these stupids; who are talking about democracy. What they don’t know what’s the use of democracy if there is no Pakistan.

First of all SAVE PAKISTAN and then talk something else.

And there is one man only who could stillsave Pakistan and THAT IS MUSHARRAF

  14. Musharraf is the last man on this earth who can save Pakistan!
He destroyed Pakistan like many before him. But, his way was even worse.
If given the chance he will do it again and again.

  15. You are right, I guess, I gotta give it to you. Musharraf was the “last man on this earth who can save Pakistan!” He had a God given and Sharif chosen chance to save Pakistan, but he proved to be too decent a human being to deal with these ‘animals’ who Nazia has correctly recognized as “donkeys, bulls, monkeys …”. Musharraf should have culled them all and thus save us all. He lacked that killer instinct, that murderer lust to destroy his opponents, which the rest are so abundantly endowed with.

  16. Oh yeah? And would you call shipping off our own innocent people to Guantanamo Bay and recieving millions of dollars in return an act of a decent man? Pakistan is the only country in the history of the world who has chucked her people right into the enemy’s territory.

I guess you are losing your ‘political sense’. Is it because AOM and ’some other’ visitors have confessed their eternal love for you? Because if it is so, it’s good to sacrifice for the Love of your Life but it’s another thing to take it to insanity!

  17. Look, as far as I am concerned, anyone, anyone including myself and my loved ones, who joins my Pakistan’s and Pakistanis enemies are our enimies, pure and simple, and anyone who is willing to help us destroy them, I will welcome them. A Pakistani working against the interest of Pakistanis is an enemy and his enemy is my friend, I will be more than willing to hand over them and their helpers and supporters to any territory. HOWEVER WHAT I WLL NOT DO EVER IS TRY TO FORCE A PAKISTANI SOLDIER TO LAND ANYWHERE INCLUDING ENEMY COUNTRY TO SATISFY MY EGO - Nawaz attempted that at whatever cost even if that meant the plane crashing and killing so many of my country women/men. The fool did not realize that the COAS could be fired after landing as well, but no, little minds hardly have the sense and patience to ponder.

Now, this political agitator is publically inciting mutiny; perhaps his ‘friends’ are trying to entice his ‘death wish’ to land him into a new situation called - ‘High Treason’. Frankly, if I was anywhere close to the powers that be, I would get him for this - I guess he needs to be tutored into legalities and a bit of understanding of ‘Rule of Law’, the punishment prescribed for ‘High Treason’ is rather interesting one and I wish the law to take its logical course and do so fast!

As far as AOM or anyone showing, what you have called, “eternal love” for me. Am I to reject that feeling? No, I am grateful, and I am humbled and this makes my faith and trust in God much firmer, if He wishes love for me, from whatever source, then who can stop it. However, I wish to make it double clear that I am not into this for the sake of winning for me love and favours of any sorts. I am not in any popularity contest - those who don’t like what I write or say are more than welcome to go and ‘do it to themselves’! you know what I mean.

  18. Mr. Aftab,

Civility and etiquette has never been one of your charming qualities, so why don’t you just drop the pretense and use the words as per your flair for ‘abusive language’? You have got your information quite wrong if you think Musharraf is a friend, a well-wisher of Pakistan! Maybe, this shows your extent of ‘love’ for the important things in your life. You are just too blind to see things for what they really are!

As for people loving you, you are welcome to have each other. I give my heartiest wishes. However, the more sane ones like Nazia know you for what you truly and aren’t blinded by their love for you! Thank the Lord for that!

  19. Correction: …….for what you truly are*

  20. I don’t remeber who has actually started handing over Pakistanis to Us . There was Amir or Kamil Kansi who was handed over to US. What I remember there was no Musharraf at that time.

    Can someone help me?
