No, the biggest problem is foreign intervention and destruction of Pakistan’s sovereignty (in cahoots with its Government) where thousands of Pakistanis are being killed with impunity, left, right and centre from FATA to Baluchistan to other provinces…this “load-shedding” is part and parcel of that policy without a doubt…somebody honest should go investigate whether Xe or the US Embassy in Islamabad along with these successive government wretches are running this whole scam…this ‘efficiency’ policy only came about in this severe form in the late Noughties, maybe around 2007 (?). Why didn’t it exist to such an extent before? Perhaps along with supplying NATO’s occupation, they are also diverting electricity to them and keeping Pakistanis busy with this so they won’t demand an end to US occupation and war in their country.

The ‘common man’ some of whom often vote for the Pakistan P*mps’ Party need to know that their leaders have committed treason (a crime punishable by death in many democratic countries) by colluding with a foreign power to harm Pakistan’s national security and its national interest, and to destroy its central institutions like its armed forced and its intelligence agency. This is why Memogate is not a “farce”, “spice” or “juice” as claimed. It is the high crime of an incumbent Government against the state and people it claims to represent. Richard Nixon was removed from office and humiliated for less…for wire-tapping his Democratic opponents and for lying about it. This was nothing in comparison to what Zardari/ Haqqani and this PPP administration did. Memogate was high treason.

If Nixon’s appointed US-ambassador to the USSR had gone to the Russian Government and the Russian defence/ foreign offices/ Russin generals and said “help me stay in power in the US because I fear there will be a coup against me from the American armed forces…if you do this, in return I will neuter my countries armed forces, remove the current chief, replace him with people you approve, and I will also disband the current National Secuirty Council and create a new one filled with your appointees….etc etc etc.” And if Nixon had also secretly approved a Russian attack/invasion of the US near the West Point military academy where an alleged Russian wanted ‘terrorist’ (who died of natural causes a decade earlier) was said to be hiding, and the Russians shot up the place and decimated American sovereignty in the process, there is no way on God’s earth that Nixon would have even lived to see another day, let alone continue to govern a year later. Unlike Zardari, Haqqani and PPP who are still there a year later…making excuses, telling lies, making bigger dummies of the people everyday…claiming that there have always been ‘conspiracies against the PPP’ when the latter is at the heart of US/Indian plots in destabilising and harming Pakistan.

There’s hell of a difference between memo case and mehrangate. The key witness in mehran case is a convict mentally unstable younis habib with who has no concrete evidence against anyone. In memogate you had a credible witness Mansoor Ijaz who hard solid evidence to back up his claims. Memogate was hushed up by your own government after threatening key witness whereas in Mehrangate the main convict younis –a jail-mate of Zardari– is moving around freely leveling baseless allegations against his opponents. It’s unfortunate that memo was put on the back burner by establishment and government but a dead case of mehrangate is being propped up to hide the massive misappropriations of present government.

Mehrangate is waste of time as Asghar Khan has withdrawn his petition to prosecute anyone due to lack of concrete evidence.
