I OFFER GENERAL ASHFAQ PARVEZ KIYANI FULL COOPERATION AND SUPPORT
TO THE PAKISTAN ARMY ON BEHALF OF THE MQM FOR THE TOTAL
ERADICATION OF RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM FROM THE COUNTRY

ALTAF HUSSAIN

London: 24 April 2009

Mr Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) hailing the statement of the Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani from the core of his heart valiantly claiming to redeem the country from religious extremism, paid him tributes including every officer and soldier. In his statement, he said that the armed forces had confronted the internal and external challenges dawned on the country with great valour in the past, sacrificed thousands of lives of the officers and soldiers to confront the uprising in the tribal areas and paid his tribute to them.

Mr Altaf Hussain said that Chief of the Army Staff addressing the Operational Meeting of the Armed Forces sought the cooperation of the people to redeem the country from the religious extremism; hence, he offered the total cooperation and support of the leaders, workers and supporters of MQM all over Pakistan and Azad Kashmir on behalf of the MQM to General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani and the armed forces. Adding further, he said that the leaders, workers and supporters of the MQM would extend their cooperation in every way for the redemption of the country from religious extremism and to save the country in every way including sacrificing their lives and the armed forces would find them standing shoulder to shoulder with them during all difficult times.

Mr Altaf Hussain also hailing the views of Mr Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Prime Minister that he viewed in the National Assembly of eradicating the country of the religious extremism said that not only me but mothers, sisters, elders, youths and children including the workers of the MQM in the country applauded his statement because they were disappointed of late on the surge of religious extremists that had been rejuvenated on these vows expressed by the Chief of the Army Staff and the Prime Minister. Concluding his statement, he prayed for the country and appealed to the youths to come forward to save the country.

People wants to live in peace and that is what people of swat thought they will get through Sufi Muhammad. It is unfortunate that every body is only trying to project their own self and no body is thinking even minutely for others.

Sufi Muhammad is now acting like Amir ul momineen. It is amazing to see how people change their faces and that quickly.

Excellent judgment done by abduallah but in a very diplomatic way.Mismanagement in human circles are always done by human who are usually selected to lead the nation. It is practically proved that 90% failure are done by human negligence and by casual attitude and 10% demolitions are part of nature and it is beauty of good governance that can curtail this 10% natural trend against human development.

Mohsin Bhai,

It's pointless (and dishonest) to blame people like Maulana Sufi, Fazlullah, Baitullah or Osama for the violence & terror that is killing our children. For years we have been promoting and condoning the use of violence and terror to achieve our "national interest" and "strategic depth", and all this is done in the name of Islam & Jihad. Now the monster which we so lovingly created and nurtured to spread destruction, bloodshed, misery and hate amongst the kafir has decided that we, it's erstwhile masters, are kafir too. It is the height of denial and self-delusion to try to disown them now.

What kind of immoral, perverted logic is it that allows us to celebrate and praise someone as a hero and freedom fighter for Jihad fisabil Allah when he kills someone else's children only to call him a terrorist when he kills ours? What is this depraved creed that we follow which teaches us that we can do evil in the name of good, and not be defiled by it?

We have been indulging in this moral schizophrenia for so long that we can no longer tell right from wrong. The result is corruption and decay: our Nation dismembered, our infrastructure crumbling (unless you live in Defence Colony), our education a joke, our democratic institutions dysfunctional, our children (those too poor to escape overseas) look forward to either being a perpetrator or victim of suicide bombing.

But all that aside, the most grievous consequence is the effect on our Nation's soul. Our moral blindness infects our hearts and our children's too; it replaces the teachings of Allah with hate, unreason & beastliness; gone are mercy, forgiveness, love and peace. Eventually, we lose our humanity and become twisted, hateful monsters ourselves, living short, brutish and nasty lives, just like in the time of Jahilia.

Am I being unfair in assigning responsibility to us, the people of Pakistan, instead of our leaders? No, I am not. People everywhere get the government that they deserve, and so did we. May Allah help us find our moral compass again.

Mohsin,

You don't have to bow in front of them they will make you to bend.

You have favored these kind of guys for a long time and are now paying for it. Why was the Lal Masjid cleric released, why is Sufi Muhammad able to negotiate peace deal with government when he has led people to fight people in Afghanistan and caused huge damage to people in Pakistan.
