Well, Madam, first of all, congratulations for honouring Shaheed Quaid-e-Awam’s memory by quoting the moving account of that last meeting from Shaheed BB’s autobiography. I must say reading it brings tears to one’s eyes.

I never implied that your criticism was unjustified. What I actually meant, but may be failed to convey was that you shouldn’t apply blanket condemnation to the entire PPP, if you think that Governor Taseer, or any other individual for that purpose, has comitted a blunder (which I personally think he never did). It’s good to note though, that you’re also a PPP voter.

I’m not that ‘blind’ in my love for the party. Although my Dad, struggled for democracy during Zia’s draconian period in power, apart from my days in university, I myself have never really been a political activist. By education, I’m an electronic engineer, who has never had anything to do with real politics. Its only now that I sometimes get to read people’s articles here and give my comments accordingly. And I was just wondering if may be I should start writing and contributing articles here…..After all, in this storm of anti PPP sentiments, someone ought to write in PPP’s favour also…….Can you tell me how I can contribut my essays here? I’ll be thankful.

Hassan , PPP gets blamed because they are responsible for screwing up things mostly.What did they achieve by creating the political mess the country went through lately?Who is to be blamed for that if not PPP?Governor has done NOTHING to be called a ‘good’ administrator.It is nothing but your blind love for the party that’s making you talk like that.I voted for PPP btw but like many, I too have been disappointed.I do not belong to any party.PPP gets criticised by me most of the times because they deserve it.What makes you think it is unjustified?

Madam, firstly, I did read what you had to say in your article. I admit that the ‘Sasti Roti’ programme initiated by Mr. Sharif was a good move, yet this programme is only in operation in regions along the GT road, from where Noon League derives its electoral support. And then so many instances of financial irregularities in this programme have been reported, for example there are hundreds of ghost tandoors, that exist nowhere on earth, and yet their documented owners are recieving subsidies from Punjab government.

I’ve nothing against the person of Shahbaz Sharif, (in fact, I love the way this man matches his ties to his shirts ) but the truth is that this man has not achieved much during his term in office, other than delivering fiery speeches and creating a forward block in a rival party.

Well, I think we all are free to develop our own opinions, and we all have the right to differ with one another in opinion.Yet, we must never close our eyes to the facts. You present the facts quite well, but the problem is that you always seem to blame PPP and its leaders for every ill. This is a biased approach.

Ms. Nazia: The extremist mullahs and terrorists,are enemies of us all, and the fact that they struck while Governor Taseer was incharge of the province doesn’t in any way imply that there was any shortcoming on part of the Governor.

this is very important thing you mentioned that people are so blind in personalities of their leaders that they even feel on guilt of covering up their list of crimes.All ideals are human being.it is not matter the people admire -ve characters but it is shocking that they justify wrong doings of their ideals with so boldness and courage.All people make mistake and people on seats do crime if found guilty of mistakes.Shabiz sharif and his brothers did lot of crimes in their last regime,they are caught and punished as per criteria of a military dictator.Now they have learnt from their punishment and come back in politics with lot of modification in their political acts.People have seen his public support on 15 march and nothing more to say about performance of salman after seeing worst terrorists attacks in Lahore under his one man showtime.

Sir, I would advise you to start updating yourself with the current affairs of the country instead of what happened in the 80s.You can re-read my article to know about a ‘few’ things SS has done to prove himself.Excessive blind jiyalaism can stop you from realizing the truth.Your star governoer only brought shame to the country during his one month long inefficient governance..

He proved himself to be an excellent administrator, by releasing the development funds to all district Nazims of Punjab. These development funds had previously been withheld by the Shahbaz Sharif government, solely to coerce the district Nazims, many of whom belong to Q-league, to join the ranks of his own N League.

With due respect, may I ask you what Shahbaz Sharif has done to prove himself the ‘most efficient CM’ as you have stated in your article?

Both of you ladies appear utterly oblivious to the great sacrifices for democracy that many PPP leaders particularly Salman Taseer Sahab offered during the draconian Zia regime. Salmaan Taseer was a real maverick during the dark period of bloody dictator Zia. He was imprisoned in the notorious Lal Qila Torture Cell, often tortured in squalid conditions for months. Then he was victimized, imprisoned times and again during the tuenure of Mian Nawaz Shairif as CM of Punjab in the late 1980s. Why do we forget our democratic heroes?

The best thing about Salmaan Taseer is that he is a self made and hard working man. He made a fortune through legitimate means, something that cannot be said about many other politicians in our country

Please don’t forget history. And don’t let your biased opinions overshadow the facts!

he is truly strong administrator but from terrorism point of view.He is by product of mausharf regime and followed the same rule and it is to create maximum fear factor on streets so that people never gathered against him.In his all in all tenure Lahore faced the worst kind of attacks in its history and whole world had seen his obstinate attitude that he never accepted his failures.and not a singly person was charged or blamed for serious security lapses in working hours of Lahore.March was always considered as festival producing month in the history of Lahore as different event are organized in all walks of life and in all levels to welcome spring season but under his strong administration this time people had spent this march in mourning and wailing for our poor souls who were targeted by unknown terrorists or inhaled lot of tear gas instead of fresh air of spring season.
