Long March: Every Step Up-Hill is an Addition in Zardari’s Count Down
By Farid Masood • Mar 14th, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 2 CommentsGeneral consensus upon this that President Zardari has not much time to hold the situation in his control neither his regime has time over this year. Every step of long march towards Islamabad is an addition towards his count down. Current problem is that forces controlling Pakistani regime don’t have President Zardari’s replacement.
As the policy about southern Asia is changing, and to get rid of Afghanistan’s Issue, America needs a strong man in Pakistan having roots in Talibans to control them from Pakistan. The right man in this situation is no other than Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
Mian Nawaz shall have support from ANP, JUI all factions, all parties in Balouchistan shall cooperate in this regards. To gain Nawaz’s support US Admin have to sacrifice on some points. This time change would be hard for some personalities enough to survive. They may have to face life time exile including General (retd) Pervaiz Musharraf.
The peaceful long march is being stopped at every place authorities can, putting baricades, containers in the way, but people are moving towards Islamabad in bunches. Authorities are affraid of it otherwise they would have cordon the roads and allow the participants towards their destination calmly.
Raids and arrests are underway to sabotage this march. Till now authorities are unable to catch main leadership of lawyers and political parties. Hopefully, there would be sit-in of almost five hundred thousand people. Army can be called to control the situation and to avoid sit-in.
Again no words will defuse this charged situation. Actions needed for the betterment of Pakistan personal insterest not to re-instate Justice Iftikhar as CJP needs review and nation’s interest cannot be over-ruled. Earthquake twice on the day of Zardari’s election as president was the indication from nature but we were unable to understand.

Nawaz Sharif has never had the support or the backing of the intl world. he’s just a a stop-gap measure and that is something im willing to bet on. by doing what he has to Zardari, he’s really shown how incredibly mature he is. he should have at least paid a bit of attention to the international pressures Pakistan faces.. each and every phone call from the US, UK, Japan, Saudia.. the only subject is our stability and security. had he had Pakistan’s interest at heart, he would’ve known the damned impression Pakistan has abroad, worse still the impression this is creating internationally. but he had to play his card because he had to make sure at least one of them was in power.. him or shahbaz. it’s just a stroke of luck that the long march was yet to happen and that’s why the entire plan to pull out of govt, push Zardari into a corner…. good job Sharif sahab.. only remember, that you rule if only there’s a pakistan to rule!
All of the TV anchors and writers are openly supporting Nawaz Sharif which is against the norms of professionalism spirit of journalism.
One can’t deny the fact that 90% of them are Punjabis. This is a very sad aspect of all of the situation.
I think this is extreme of PUNJABI GARDI which is no good for the future of country.
Punjabis has never learned a lesson from the debacle of East Pakistan and if something happens again to the country Punjab and Punjabis will be responsible again.
They will be no one and they will have nowhere togo .
Punjab is nothing without rest of Pakistan, Punjabis should understand this even there leaders (Sharif Brothers) can’t understand
These kind of people earlier against to Musharraf because of his urdu speaking background
