Live a lie

By Muhammad Ahsan Malick • Nov 2nd, 2009 • Category: Features • 6 Comments

I am writing this article on late Friday night or one can say early Saturday morning, It was all bright and shinny here in Karachi, right from early morning, apart of newspaper and few extra security personals on the roads every thing was as “beautiful” and “normal” as ever, the break fast, the ride to office, usual loud laughter, until I realized that every thing was reeking of fake, every thing around was a fabricated loll, but I am happily living this lie, like most of us, happy and safe in our tiny littlie worlds, if every thing is fine in Karachi then who cares what’s happening in Islamabad, Peshawar, and about waziristan? …!!! To hell with waziristan, Americans are right kill each and every one of them, their extermination will solve our troubles and for those who have any problem and concerns with this solution lets write an article and continue to live a lie.

Fact among the overwhelmingly sprinkled lies of the matter is that each sunrise is bringing more distressing scenes country wide, chaos is seemingly never ending at least with the approach we have attained in terms of resolution of the subject, terrorist attacks are rising as one expected after commencing our selves in a search for a “path of deliverance” in Waziristan, apparently its quite hard to differentiate between the attacks, as such acts are atrocious responses more out of desperation from a pitiless mentality when it observe it self suffering in danger of extinction, terrorist attacks are fairly identical in more then one way, and there is another “perception” that there are other foreign hands involve in these terrorist activities, so question is how one should separate them, one’s being committed by interior hocks and those being facilitate and executed by the foreign agencies directly?, well I have a very simple approach to judge and differentiate between the two, there are two evident different patterns in these attacks, Internal pawns mainly TTP and allies are targeting security personals, entities related to security establishment along with some symbolic international organizations in the countries such as UN and related NGOs and after each attack they are likely to accept the responsibility with a shameful warning to add in to the traumatic situation, while foreign element of RAW, CIA etc are busy using Iraqi model of car bombings and reported “suicide attacks” in markets and streets, main reason of foreign involvement is much clearer, that to provide further justifications for military operation, promoting peoples v/s military scenario, increase hate among the people of Pakistan, further division of an already alienated Pakistani society and add to the bloody mayhem, war hysteria and disorder in the present circumstances, in doing so drive people of Pakistan with the fear factor, dreadful example is last blast in Peshawar, which was probably among the worst terrorist attacks in the recent history of Pakistan, reminding people about the days when KGB and RAW were joining hands to achieve same goals back in 80s, similar kind of attack was committed in Karachi in Bohri Bazaar back in 87 which killed almost same number of innocent civilians, reported responsible was KGB, attack caused comparable effect and reactions, has Peshawar attack accomplished what the schemers planned? Well It has amplified the level of anxiety for sure, and following in to it most people are demanding “strict” actions in Waziristan, considering this attack being executed from caves of waziristan, its quite prominent to note the fact that no “one” has accepted the responsibility of this attack, normally TTP in their specific philosophy found itself very proud on claiming such “triumphs”, but they denied the claim, but we have start looking into direction which master mind of the attack wanted us to, are we playing in the hands of the odds? Indeed we are, most of us.

There is one more “lie” jolting my mind and upsetting the prettiness of the landscape for me that most of us are victim of vanity, vanity which has been imposed upon us by the one way feeding from biased analysis, ridiculous claims and “directed” speculations of the events, which has resulted in a creation of an environment which mesmerized most of us, its an surrounding which I termed as synthetic wave of PATRIOTISM, triggered by the hilarious media campaign which is getting on its ultimate stature each day, any one like me or some one else who denies it, “victims of the vanity” tends to affirmed him as part of the terrorist regime, I am quite happy in my state of despise and staying on a refuted ground against such expression of spirit of “loyalty” and patriotism which is fabricated and blended with enthusiastic approach instigated and originated from artificial factors, well I am calling it synthetic patriotism because it’s the only brand of its kind available in the market these days, dynamics and parameter of which are invented in ministry of information which itself according to another “lie” is connected through a strong data link with people in pentagon, any act of facilitating pentagon in Afghanistan Is defiantly becomes synthetic and absurd when people try to convince me that this is for my own good and facts defines it totally other way aground, having said that one can not blame the common mass for overflowing with this unnatural hype as most of us are inhabitants of land of 8’oclock hysteria, I beg you a pardon, hysteria normally starts at 8:05 pm PST, at the end of which most of the “viewers” normally rise up in mechanical manner against the threat pointed out in the each show and start repeating it till there is another 8’oclock hysteria to follow, and it goes around in the circles.

Majority of channels and media personals are bluntly presenting one side of the story, and most probably diverting people’s minds intentionally in one direction, telling truth about a “lie” that every human life has same significance, in pursuit for this truth they are teaching us a new lesson, media has a propensity to report innocents being killed in Islamabads, Peshawers more vigorously, what about PAF being “mistakenly” bombing the hell on poor innocent civilians on regular basis in WAZIRISTAN, where there is no converge, there is no live telecast, collateral damage is a beautiful diplomatic term with “entertaining” side effects which we are “enjoying”, what is happening all around the country in this current wave of terrorist attacks is horrifying, it should be condemned strongly and responsible should bring to the justice, but justice for both sides, justice for all, injustice media is committing is also adding up to the gravity of the situation, one should seriously think about resolving situation through dialogues with natives, talks with local tribal elders, but in doing there is a hurdle in shape of another misconception, created by the media that no buddy is willing to talk from waziris and that when ever there is a dialogue process its tribals who discredit the agreement by doing a violation, in reality it was US which sabotaged each peace deal by either a drone attack or sending over marines across the boarder to either kill or kidnap the “wanted”, electronic media perhaps “wisely” in their interest hasn’t been vocal enough in delivering those sides of the story, instead found it self appealing towards few “videos” to propagate and discuss.

Focal point of whole above exercise is the transmission of a riddle that this is our war, most people believe that, well if US is paying us to go in for this war and padding our back in doing what we are then how could it be our war, Operation in Waziristan is a certain confirmed inevitability, but more for US then for Pakistan, US will leave Afghanistan soon, its only a matter of finding relevant face saving, its more about saving what has left for them in terms of reputation, reputation which is being seriously dented by Taliban who are now openly attacking Kabul which is considered as a stronghold of American war machinery, NATO is on a decline, they are without a doubt falling back and using strategy of talks and dialogue with freedom fighters of Afghanistan, this approach can be witnessed in recent account of NATO vacating the areas of Nuristan province under an accord with Taliban by which Taliban provided them safe corridor through the area, one should ask himself what is the future of Afghanistan once US goes out, who will be the people guiding the afghans about the way forward? Will those people consider Pakistan as “pal” or an obstacle between their true “friend” which situated in our east? Most people will deny it but this is a hard verity that when the idea of an operation in Waziristan was under discussion inside Pakistani security establishment it was US who was pressurizing the Pakistan for an early push in waziristan mainly for their own sake, and Glimpse of double game played by US also reflected when Pakistan entered Waziristan US/NATO gladly vacated boarder posts for sake of smooth continuation of supply line and two way traffic for the convicts, and at the same time when Pakistan Army leader ship was trying to get the local waziris on their side by addressing their concerns and try to limit the collateral damage and to marginalize the rebel forces among locals, US on the other hand was busy in planning to messed it up by drone strikes, one resulted in a reported death of Al-Qaeda’s operative Abu-Al-misri, bravo to drone, Good bye to Al-misri is definitely a big achievement for US but this action under the context of the situation will backfire for Pakistan, timings of the attack might prove a catastrophe, the death of Al Misri will affect the whole plan. Since he was the guest of Waziri tribesman and allied to Haqqani group of Taliban and their local host Haji Gul Bahadur, it’s quite significant to note that Haqqani is more concerned to fight the occupied forces in Afghanistan then “islamise” Pakistan, considering these facts one could speculate that Al-Misri’s death might result in a strong recoil. The Waziri tribesman led by Haji Gul Bahadur and based in North Waziristan might pull back from the deal with the government and resume their fight in this crucial time, out come could be an announcement from ISPR regarding extension in earlier publicize time lines in their operation in searching for path of deliverance in Waziristan.

After reviewing these facts its quite safe to say that US is running a twofold policy based on intentions of nursing only their interests and in that strategy Pakistanis are just collateral damage, we are fighting their war and the result is that their is no suicide attack in US, in arguing about this some people will come up with several numbers about amount of money we’ve received, if some buddy want to bring the business in to this then I am afraid that he is not even doing a good trade by assisting Americans in the killings of neighbors as well as our own people, , no wonder why Queen Hillary was all pleased and smiling on her recent visit to Pakistan, Pakistanis are going in right direction according to her, she praised our “commitment” on fighting their war while she was busy gathering data about ground situation of the Af-Pak later to further remodel their strategy in Afghanistan, Their is no doubt that we are serving US very well and on quite cheap rates, interesting facts which come up about the whole development is that when one compares US expanses in Afghanistan which are $1 million a year per solider, it means an American solider worth more then $80,000 in terms of his expenses and expenditures a month, kindly some buddy tell me how much a Pakistani soldier costs for them even in the delighting brightness of $7.5 billions of Kerry Luger Bill(in reality its not more then $600 million a year out of quoted $1500 million), Pakistan’s confirmed loss in so called war on terror is more then $35 billion and in return US has “granted” about $12 billion mainly in terms of security equipments, social and economical sector of Pakistan has faced a disaster and even going further down in the index, economy is as fragile as one can get, international reputation has gone down to the wire, fear is ruling the rules, I didn’t raised IDPs issue intentionally perhaps one is getting use to this, is that what people calling “rah-e-nijaat”, why I am asking this question when final verdict has already come on the issue, any ways if every thing in Karachi is fine then who cares about IDPs and what’s happening in Islamabads, Peshawars, and about….waziristan? …!!! To hell with waziristan, Americans are right, media is right, every one here is right, kill each and every one of them with out discriminating, their extermination will solve all of our troubles, and for those who seemingly have few problems and concerns lets write an article and continue to live a lie.

  1. Basically, After many years of governance that has not been up to standard, Pakistan is on the verge of collapse.

You have let religious extremists and their schools foster a virus of suicide bombers that is out of control.

    Have you been sleeping?

    What to expect?

Everyone wants peace prosperity and a safe life. How do you accomplish this?

  2. The Drones killed not only masiri but also Baitullah Mehsud who was till the other day public enemy no 1 of pakistan

  3. Put the war mongering policy of USA on one side that America need wars to run its economy and create employment for people back home and that USA also wants to secure its hegemony in the areas where there lie the economic and mineral resources but one is failed to understand that USA with the joint collaboration of India will quit this operation of terrorism in the face of their defeat so easily.
There are huge investment done by USA as well as India in this region to see Pakistan which is their biggest hurdle and a potent force in the area and will surely see it going down. Come what may these stooges will certainly not sit ideal when Pak Army is poised to reap the victory in successful scaling the last ditch of this prolonged war———against terrorism in south Waziristan.

We must all stay warned that it is but sure that India has to spring up a major incident like Taj Mahal Hotel blast in Mumbai and stir our eastern borders.

That is a part to be played by Indian side but CIA will certainly line up series of bomb blasts especially on the locations where our nuclear assets and other major headquarters are located and show that how vulnerable Pakistan and its nuclear arsenals are.

If India or CIA they do not do this—- then they are facing a stark defeat in this war————-This they may not digest.

  4. Washington: Pakistan has lost control of rogue military and intelligence officers, who are now aiding the militants, and it might be too late to sanitise the Army, a former French judge has said in his new book.

“The situation in Pakistan is among the most worrisome…the central government has lost control of certain elements of the Army and the ISI,” Jean-Louis Bruguiere, an investigative French Magistrate, said.

In his book based on details of investigations of Willie Brigitte, a Frenchman who was convicted of terrorism charges in 2007, the judge says that according to the account given by the terrorist, CIA officers were hoodwinked by Pakistani Army officers as they inspected militant training camps jointly run by al Qaeda and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

“Since most of the commanders of LeT were earlier in the Army, these inspections were doomed to draw a blank,” he said in the book, which is slated to hit the stands on Monday, excerpts of which were carried by Los Angeles Times.

“The foreign recruits were alerted on the eve of the arrival of the inspecting teams by their instructors…the trainees then had to erase any traces of their presence and head to elevations of more than 13,500 feet while the inspection lasted,” Bruguiere says in the book What I Could Not Say.

The book details French investigations of extremist activities in Pakistan, including a case in which officials went as far as hiding militants from CIA inspection teams at a training camp run by the Pakistani military, the Times said.

“Military handlers then sent the trainees on terrorist missions to the West,” it quoted Bruguiere as saying.

“Thousands of Afghans and Pakistanis were being trained in these camps. The Pakistani security forces supplied arms and instructors to the camps,” Bruguiere says.

In his 481-page book, Bruguiere says the US made strategic errors in dealing with Pakistan, and adds that it might be too late to clear the security forces of those who sympathise with the extremists.

The book says Brigitte testified that his handler was a Pakistani military officer, identified as Sajid, who sent the Frenchman to Australia to join a cell plotting bomb attacks on targets that included a nuclear plant.

Alerted by French investigators on Brigitte’s trail, Australian police arrested the group in 2003.

The Los Angeles Times said in 2006, Bruguiere went to the Pakistani port city of Karachi to investigate a suicide bombing that had killed 11 French naval contractors three years earlier.

Pakistani security officials were uncooperative and hostile, he said.

“French officials in Pakistan were the target of threats and physical intimidation: a way of dissuading us from returning,” he writes according to the daily.

  5. # 4

No wonder; when some one probably has been writing his memoir while sitting under a yum yum tree stretching his imaginations in a starry night the write up has to be—-but a hotchpotch.

Points raised seemed to be totally baseless and made up. No statement is close to any reality.

  6. @ # 5

Thanks for speculating about my autobiography, although i haven’t write any, you seemingly denied the points i raised i want to know which point is more “made up” among quoted, Let make it simple and give you an objective type of choice as you seems very object-ive. “Assuming” that you’ve commented on article,

    (A) Al-misri’s Death through Drone and its possible impacts?
    (B) Numbers ands speculations based on details of Kerry Lugar Bill?
    (C) US/NATO withdrawing border posts?
    (D) One way media reporting and mind set of people like you?
