Let’s Become Leader

By Ghazala Khan • Jan 29th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 11 Comments

Well, Americans are lucky that they have got at last the president of their choice and that president has got all the muscles to steer their turbulent ship. President Obama has told Americans that, “starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America.”

We envy Americans. We do. Pakistan is yearning for such a leader. We need a man with fortitude, resolve and vision to lead us. The words have gone dry and their repetition has become frivolous and usage flimsy. The problems of Pakistan have become monumentally frightening and yet we don’t have any leader to lead us to a secure and better future.

Pakistanis need to change themselves to produce such a leader. No golden angel is going to land from the moon or appear from out of the blue to become our leader. We must stop hallucinating and procrastination. We need to get our act right and we have to act. We must kill our extremely disasterous habit of pervasive willingness to let our liberty, freedom, and dreams go under the rhetoric of our so called leaders, who are a bunch of roving cowards.

Let’s become leader.

  1. If you wish for someone like this idiot for a leader, be my guest get the communist asshole out of the United States and keep him.

  2. Ghazala,

It is good to have a leader to lead but when you start things most of the times there are no leaders they come later when the things become big.

You can also start change in your country.

  3. George W Bush became President via Supreme Court verdict and kept the entire world to ransom and in his clutches for long eight years till American they got fed up and elected a black man, Barack Obama to bring them a change. Whether American peoples’ dreams are fulfilled or not—– the time will tell. At least world got rid off George W Bush and his Neocons. Thanks to American peoples.

Same thing was faced in Pakistan. We had a military dictator sitting over our heads but at the end he did allow us to have fair and fine Elections. Present Government is the out come of that election by the peoples but soon we are fed up with our elected lot. Who could be blamed?

Knowing them to be such that lot coming up were the pilferers and looters but Pakistani masses elected them and made them sit on their heads.
    Better not cry…now !

  5. leaders are always men of average intelligence ,which we people dont believe.

  6. Unless we are able of getting rid of pirs, jillanis, makhdooms and uniform men in our system of governance, we cant produce any kind of sensible leadership.Birth of bhutto as a strong politician was strong lesson in US lobby and army mafia as he was unique leader grown up in dictator’s nursery and when got full authority truly acted as leader of Pakistan. Now they both are always in witch hunt to nip the evil form the bud.Bhutto movement has produced many daring characters but all were deactivated in martial law regimes resulting all looters, plunderers, daciots have joined hand together on our political platform. These strong mafia men are completely dominating on our culture man as scare crow like character who surely deserve better position in our system .At that moment our system made of dictators are creating lot of hindrance in political gateway .So first we should go for implementation of proper system that can secure true leaders and then yearn for it.At this time lawyers movement can fulfill such gap but no doubt now we surely lack in such blessings.

  7. i strongly disagree with nazia, great leaders are also produced in worst situations.

  8. always

you are theorticially right but I am all saying in reference of leadership produced in Pakistan. In presence of strong military who are always willing to conquer its own people, and dangerous US influence ,we are still unable to develop any pure political force from our youth. As bhutto fanaticised many young blood and created tremors in army adminstration so we had seen how our intelligence agencies occupied govt univeristies in form of Jamiat and then mqm and produced dummy political force that most of times backed army dictator. We had lost and still loosing many young energetic students in our universities who tried to raise voices against this mafia groups .So now Imran khan has started some better environment in universities and also some strong teachers in private universities have started political development of our young breed.I will give you another example of decline of political awareness in our culture that in last 20 year word ” siyasi” or politics has become used as an abusive term in our culture. When we try to degrade some body or his job or his national statement we usually say .This thing has become siyasi so not practicable or as this man has become siyasi so he is not an honest man..Luckily the rise of lawyers’s movement and our media development has cleared the objectivity of politics in civic structure and that is now making difference. For the last centuery our political icons are mostly either strong feuds who in our constituency is still adopting master slave culture or men who are highly corrupt and seeking all opportunites to grab power or top rank army officers who no way can behave like political model owing to their military training.Group of all these managers have actually transform themselves as mafia and now govt is usually rotate among this group. So these are my caculation for my system and on that basis I give comments like that

  10. Yes, Nazia is right when she aserts that all those who ‘appointed’ themselves ‘managers’ of our system have “transformed themselves into mafia”. The ordinary citizens, the masses, of Pakistan are forced to live in slums, where as, I am certain that our leaders have slums inside themselves. No wonder they, one and all, stink!

  11. [...] me - says please and thank you so much I suspect she must be in earnest. She has a post called Leader which concludes saying ‘Let’s Become Leader’. I know the grammar is off, but the [...]
