Lease out Pakistan!
By Rana • Jan 18th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 CommentsThe British left India in 1947 after almost a 100 years of rule. They left behind a rich legacy…a great road and rail network, beautiful buildings, the largest and most complex canal system……the buildings they made 100 of years before still stand strong. The plaza’s we bulit yesterday collapse…..the roads broken…the infrastructure a complete mess…the government - the most corrupt in the world and the population the poorest.
Won’t it be a great idea to “lease” Pakistan to Britian and in return ask them for a decent life for everyone especially the 40% living at a dollar a day. I am sure that the British will be able to give us in return a much better quality of life than what we currently enjoy with a fair distribution of wealth by the creation of a social welfare state enjoyed by the west.

Not a good idea , britian is itself on the verge of collaps. Btw why are we so unthankful for what we are and what have ?
It is a very good idea, but instead of inviting the British back, I suggest either we ask for Singapore or China to lease Pakistan, until such time that Pakistani people can run their own country.
Rana one small correction, British ruled India for 200 - 150 yrs.
The idea of leasing out Pakistan to British or for that matter to any country is not that good. For this to happen first the people should be ready for it. Also the current govt. should be ready for it.
Now coming to the main part, this will lead to dissatisfaction in few people and can start revolt and harm the complete cause. As the current economic scenario are not good, any kind of such struggle will make the country to lose interest.
Also this will result in losing your freedom.
Now coming to Pakistan, it is called as Islamic republic, this means that the culture that you follow will not the same as the culture that the other country will bring. There will be huge clashes in this regard. Be it United Kingdom, Singapore, or even China, the culture of these countries are very radically different from that Pakistan’s own. Now the question comes is will people accept this?
For any country to take other country for lease, there should be some advantage that they can see. In the current state of affairs, Pakistan is getting under Taliban control, which does not give a good signal. Also from the various articles and blogs that I read on the net, the people are getting more into religious activities are trying to see everything through the religious glass, which is not that encouraging.
What a country would like to see is people coming to work as a individual and should keep is faith and religion outside office while working. You must have used this phrase at times during your college or school days, “keep you attitude or anger at your home”, this same principle applies here as well.
Now looking at the country that you have mentioned is it influenced by what has been done by these guys in HongKong, if it is true that is not a right example.
For that matter all the countries that have been mentioned above have very different way of life style. Taking a example for British, they are very systematic and people with manners and all. If you don’t follow those you are looked down at. Chinese are very hardworking and they have been in dictatorship for all or most of their lives, there is no room for any excuse.
Will the people accept this kind of life? Ask yourself whether you are ready to lose your freedom, be under dictatorship, and all those things that is not there in your country, from culture to food habits, everything will change, are you ready for this?
Britain is also on the brink of leasing out herself nowadays due to economic debacle. I think u should lease yourself out to PAGAL KHANA
