Khaki Democracy no more

By Sameer Shaharyar • Mar 19th, 2008 • Category: Politics • One Response

Pakistan today face individual and collective danger from the evils of many problems. Every other day we come to know of tragedies resulting from poverty, price hike and unemployment. Except elite, nobody is immune anymore.

The resurfacing of Pakistani nation has restarted once again with new zeal and zest. This time the difference is that we are perhaps going towards un-tarnished democracy instead of khaki democracy.

The role of free media and the sacrifices of judiciary are paramount in this regard. They have enabled the Pakistani populace to know more and to stay inform and to make their decision out of the evil and tasteless influence of PTV.

Things have changed, and I would request President Musharraf to please accept the verdict of people of Pakistan and opt-out in the favor of this verdict.
