Karachi Unrest : MQM Gives Warning to Pathans

By Salman Mugsi • Dec 5th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 48 Comments

Pakistani T.V channels and newspapers may be afraid of speaking truth behind Karachi riots due to the fears of MQM, but at least here one could speak the truth without the fear of any “unidentified gunmen”. I know that some of the people are hell bent on painting MQM as the oppressed, peace-loving doves, and innocuous representatives of Karachiites, but the truth is contrary.

After the recent riots, I have no qualms but to openly say that MQM is the enemy of Karachi. MQM doesn’t mean the Urdu speaking people of Karachi, Hyderabad or elsewhere. They mean a band of thugs, terrorists and hoodlums who have hijacked the whole city and are blackmailing the weak PPP government. They started the stunt of Talibanization in Karachi just to “cleanse” the city from Pathans. For them every pathan is Taliban and is a threat to the Karachi.

MQM is threatening Tandoors, cobblers, thaila-wallahs, hotels, laborers and other workers from Balochistan and NWFP to terminate their business and leave Karachi. The even which made me write this post so openly happened in Orangi Town, where MQM thugs dragged a pathan out of his store of timber, set the timber on fire, and then threw the pathan over it, and didn’t let him come out until he was dead. The event wasn’t allowed to be published or telecasted, but the whole Orangi Town knows about it, but very few people are willing to talk about it.

Altaf Hussain, the biggest of all thugs is sitting in London ordering the extermination of Pathans from Karachi. He started the annihilation activities of Pathans, just when the Pakistan was facing the false blames of India. Why doesn’t the creep comes back to Pakistan? It’s his own government? Only by brute force like nineties MQM can be controlled. PPP needs another Naseerullah Baber.

  1. I HATE TO AGREE with salman but only a butcher like Nasrullah Baber can sort out this mess, like they say fight fire with fire

i have been to karachi few times and i have yet to see a person who supports MQM , they only vote for mqm because its the only way to keep them out of creating terror, as any incident will humiliate their own government

the creep Altaf dada, he should be thrown to someone like Nasrullah Baber only then he will understand what he(altaf dada) put karachi through,

but again “‘TWO NEGATIVES DO NOT MAKE A POSITIVE”‘

  2. Karachi is as usual facing the lawlessness attitude of its long timerulers who wants to keep one party rule there. As zadari and co gave up Karachi in hands of mqm but internal groups of ANP are not accepting mqm supremacy as they are not forgetting what was done on 12 may and 27 dec.
t.45 people are killed but no one was killed by law enforcing agencies as declared by mirza as security in charge of karachi. Some areas are hearing arms thunders for whole night and no body has seen single vehicle of rangers and police there. Some people are migrating to other areas but mqm people after coming on tv programs consider it minor incidents in big cities. How PPP govt exempted LG of karachi form audit has put Mustafa kamal in line of suspicion.if he is fair as looks then why he did this act,So karachi people lets get ready for more violence as Pathans have drawn their guns and mqm wants to eliminate them by adopting extra judicall ways.Sacrificial eid is coming ahead so lets see this time again how many humans will be sacrificed in the line of superiority complex of one party.

  3. This is what really happened in karachi, Mohajirs were tortured and murdered and mohajir women were raped.

  4. I think the best solution is to bulldoze all iilegal katchi abadis especially formed after 1984 and there must be a massive crackdown on land grabbers and encroachers (whoever they are) and you will see all the problems of Karachi reated with power shortage and law & order situation will be dramatically improved.
By doing this, one can hope that the incidents like the ones which ocurred in the aftermath of assasination of Benazir Bhutto will never happen again.

The people who rioted the whole city during this time came from the same illegally occupied katchi abadis.

  5. I dont know why do people want to be ostriches..these so called authors write about MQM…why were they silent when state empowered operations were conducted against MQM…when thousands of innocent people were killed…hundreds of people are still missing…MQM is an expression of Karachites…We love Altaf Bhai…all you feudal lords and their thugs have tried your level best to eliminate us but for your utter disappointment, we are still here and we will keep on continuing our efforts against feudalism, chaudhry culture and family politics.

I have so much to say but you people are just dumb and see only one side of the picture. We are the nation that created Pakistan. We are the ones who lost everything for Pakistan. We did not go for any coalition under treaty. We did not wake up one day in Pakistan. We were not against creation of Pakistan…There is lot more to say but I know you people are just biased who can blame MQM for every damn thing.

  6. Well Said Sania

Being a punjabi myself I have full respect and honour for them and I acknowlege that without their sacrifices it was impossible for us to live in a free and independent country.

We (the rest of the Pakistanis) owes a lot to them

  7. The so-called blog comprised of statements full of blind hatred. Comments like “MQM is the enemy of Karachi” or “the biggest of all thugs” come across as someone lacking any common sense or objectivity.

  8. Dear Sania,

we all respect the regional leaders, but ask your self is altaf your leader? a leader in exile?
how come altaf does not come to pakistan?

there was a meeting in islamabad where all the heads of political parties came to express solidarity with each other, to show india and the world that in the face of the indian threats the pakistanis will unite and put aside their politcal difference , even CH shujaat and nawaz sharif who have been fighting like kids over the past few years met each other

if altaf hussain heads such an important party how come he did’nt show up? he could have come for an hour ? if abdul sattar represented mqm it means he is the real face of mqm. dont you think he needs to lead his party from the front in the time of crises?

the only thing i have seen him doing is making a speech from his chair in london, NS and BB also loved london but london main aisa kia hai ke altaf aane ko tiyaar hi nahi?(what is it in london that altf is not willing to come to pakistan?)

why dont you make mustafa kamal the MQM chief? he has proven himself and he is respected by all and sundry

leave everything aside just ask YOURSELF if altaf is such an angel why did he oppose and still opposes the investigation in to 12 MAY indcident in karachi, if he is clean he should order an inquiry and prove himself clean

  9. MAS wrote “leave everything aside just ask YOURSELF if altaf is such an angel why did he oppose and still opposes the investigation in to 12 MAY indcident in karachi, if he is clean he should order an inquiry and prove himself clean”.

Please correct your facts. MQM has been demanding independent judicial inquiry of May 12 incident all along since they will benefit the most from such an inquiry. Please see below excerpt from the news item in Dawn, dated June 1, 2008:

ANP, MQM leaders break the ice

    By Azfar-ul-Ashfaque

KARACHI, May 31: After a series of backdoor contacts and intervention of what the two parties called ‘mutual friends’, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Awami National Party held on Saturday their first public meeting since the May 12 tragedy and agreed to reach reconciliation through holding more meetings.

A four-member delegation of the MQM comprising Dr Farooq Sattar, Babar Ghauri, Shoaib Bukhari and Waseem Aftab called on ANP chief Asfandyar Wali, who was on a visit to the city, and discussed with him issues relating to improving ties between the two parties.

During the meeting, MQM chief Altaf Hussain also contacted Asfandyar Wali Khan on phone and expressed his sorrow over the May 12 events, which he termed a conspiracy aimed at creating differences among the likeminded forces. Later, Dr Sattar and Asfandyar Wali held a joint press conference at the residence of Sindh ANP chief Shahi Syed.

The ANP chief, however, made it clear that more meetings would be held between the two parties as one meeting was not enough to allay all misunderstandings.

He said BOTH PARTIES WERE IN AGREEMENT ON A DEMAND THAT A FREE AND IMPARTIAL INVESTIGATION OF MAY 12 MAYHEM SHOULD BE CONDUCTED.

  10. Dear Kheshgi

Why dont the words meet the actions?

MQM was in power in Sindh at the time of MAY 12 MAYHEM , who did mqm put this demand to?

    themselves?

its like i am asking you to sort out things in my house !

you have raised a very valid point that MQM was in power they should have conducted and punished the culprits a very long time ago,

like you said “they will benefit the most from such an inquiry” What were they waiting for ?

Kheshgi once again ask YOURSELF you have raised point you answer the question
WHY DID MQM DID NOT ORDER INQUIRY IF THEY WOULD BENEFIT FROM IT THE MOST?

    wither transparency……?

  11. @ Dear Kheshgi: Have you got a heart? I am not spreading blind hatred. I just described what MQM is doing in Karachi. Please, for Allah’s sake don’t be so cruel. Mustafa Kamal, Khushbukt Shujaat and few others are just cosmetics which the vampire of MQM has painted on it’s frightening face. They are killers, ruthless killers who became angry when mumbai blasts occurred and they punished Karachi for that. They not only punished khi, they also attacked pathans as they want them out.

@ Dear Mohammad Ali Sajjad and Nazia: Spot on, you guys.

  12. @ AOM: There is no doubt in the fact that immigrants from India gave the most sacrifices and they are the real pioneers of the movement. But they are no more immigrants. They are as Pakistanis as any Punjabi, Sindhi, Pathan or Balochi or anyone else. They are us, and we are them. MQM is trying to create fissures in the national unity.

  13. @Salman Magsi - As I said in my ealier post, your blog is lacking any common sense or objectivity. Keep on burning in your hatred, if that’s what you prefer.

  14. @MAS. You are totally missing my point, I was correcting you since you made a wrong statement by saying that ““leave everything aside just ask YOURSELF if altaf is such an angel why did he oppose and still opposes the investigation in to 12 MAY indcident in karachi”.

MQM never opposed the independent inquiry into the May 12 incident. The decision of not ordering an inquiry was taken by the establishment in Islamabad. I believe that MQM will benefit the most by an independent inquiry since they are the victim of negative propaganda by private news media and political parties with vested interests.

  15. @ Kheshgi: People are the better judge who is burning in hatred.

  16. Dear Kheshgi

Its was the Q league and musharraf who held power in Islamabad, if you are pointing towards them then they were partners in (MQM and Q league) in sindh they could have pressed for the investigation

now musharrf and Q league are gone they can ask PPP govt. to go ahead with the investigation, PPP had no role in 12 may incident, so they would do it without any delay, I havent heard any request being made, i might have missed it, could you please provide me with the link

in the end nothing can be proved without investigation, MQM will remain in the “Grey Area” (for that matter most of the pak leaders are in the same region) and it makes difficult for one to put his or her confidence in a person with a dubious background

untill then every now and then people will question MQM”s role in 12 May incident

  17. Kheshgi
You are in countinous state of denial what has written in the history pages of karachi. It is some like that on 12 may a massacre was done on the streets of Karachi that was caught on camera,on same foot prints as found by dawar in Loya jirga article. But,,,, mqm the ruling party never allowed law enforcing agencies to act accordingly and on this day whole karachi witnessed the scene of lawlessness and it is also on record that no govt official was taken any kind of responsibility for this deadly scene that was aired live on all channels.remember the scenes of AAJ tv firing and kidnapping of edhi’s son as whole incidents were seen live by whole world.
I will give you latest example of India in mumbai masscre that even they badly blamed Pakistanis but with this they openly accepted their failure and three major resigned were witnessed. If some how MQM said that they were also targeted and faced human loses even then it was responsibility of mqm governor to accept his failure as that day thousands of sos call were made by public to 15 but no respond and services were provided by govt machinery to public life and property. He was the same ishrat ul abad who took status of refugee in UK and took all social and financial benefits from UK govt till BBC published his acts.
My little advice to all mqm lovers that it is better to distinguish between mistakes and crimes.Mistakes can be improved but criminals should be punished as unpunished acts lead nation towards anarchy and chaos and that is what happening there in karachi.

  18. Karachi has a population of more than 15 million of people. How come since 1985 MQM is getting sweep victory in all elections and when they boycotted the election during 1990’s operation, people didn’t come out for vote. People who live in fool’s paradise and whose mind always busy in wool gathering can console themselves by thinking that MQM is getting vote by DANDA. This is hatred being planted in their hearts; they never analyzed what’s the truth. They bark for democracy in Pakistan but they don’t accept the democracy facts in Karachi,,,,,,,,, and they talk about justice, they talk about Islam and they talk about patriotism.

  19. the blog touches a sensitive subject, appears heavily biased and lacks objectivity,

just to add a thought, statements like “MQM is the enemy of Karachi” and “They started the stunt of Talibanization in Karachi just to “cleanse” the city from Pathans. For them every pathan is Taliban and is a threat to the Karachi.” are severly dangerous when there is no evidence to support the claims…

well before east Pakistan (now Banglandesh) got separated from us, similar allegations were made for Awami League also.. and the situation kept worsening and ultimately led to separation of a country.
I think blogs like these DO NOT contribute positively and only incite hatred and bigotry amongst us.
Lets face it, MQM, good or bad has mandate and if you beleive in democracy, learn to respect people’s mandate, else you will keep suffering for burning heart.
