Karachi Power Trauma
By Muskan Hina • May 22nd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 2 CommentsThe outrage at the outage of power in the megapolis of Pakistan, Karachi has touching the climax of public wratch. Karachiites have become extremely traumatized by persistent power outage and they are now on the roads cursing government and it’s mismanagement and also to those elements who are not paying bills on the political basis and using Kundas to steal the electricity, but the city government has closed its eyes from them.
A group of people traumatized by persistent power outage went on burning tyres, blocking roads, pelting stones and voicing slogans in protest against the continued power outage in the city yesterday and these public protests are likely to increase over the days as the severe heat of the summer approaches.
Almost all the areas of Karachi are getting electricity supply only for few hours, as power breakdown and load shedding continues most of the time, which has made their life unbearable, especially in this hot and humid weather in the city. Power shortages has also created a gigantic water crisis.
And our minister of power and water keeps on saying “Patience.”

The height of mismanagement is being seen on such power crisis. Our designer suited ministers are denying this facts that people are under extreme physical and mental torture due to this man made crisis.Continuous supply of power or one hour load shedding is being observed in official residences that again reflect us the mentality of ruling group. It is so irritating to see our ruling group in full getup of high class suiting when people are yearning for just continuous supply of power to save them from severe heat wave and sound sleep for few hours.
This is a little example of poor selection of our representatives as these dandy aliens dont represent us any more.Even first world leaders can not be matched with our elite class who are surely copying arab sheikh in their routine lives.
