Kamra Airbase Attack – Another Security Lapse

By Syed Hassam Ahmed • Aug 17th, 2012 • Category: Lead Story, Politics, Worth A Second Look • 15 Comments

At least nine people have been dead in heavy clashes following the pre-dawn attack on Pakistan Air force base on Thursday by militants dressed in uniforms, armed with guns and rocket launchers. It left one security official dead while a plane was also damaged as the miscreants stormed at PAF Base Minhas.

The gallant personnel of Pakistan Air Force and fearless SSG Commandoes of Pak Army completed the operation against the militants at Kamra air base wiping out every possibility of the militant’s presence in the base where Mirage and JF-17 fighter jets are assembled and manufactured and home to the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.

However, no one has claimed the responsibility yet but it is much expected that eventually Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan will raise the hand to claim the violent act.

Despite the fact that the attack on Kamra base is a matter of serious concern and security lapse but still our incompetent Federal Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar rules out it being a security breach and failure of intelligence agencies and the security heads.

It is an irony that the militants entered the base carrying heavy weapons including RPGs, rocket propelled-grenades and wearing suicide vests.

The point that amazes or shocks us is that still no resignation has been given after a severe security stumble which talks about the arrogant history of our current security heads, filled with sheer failures.

The question arises have our armed forces stopped producing courageous and gutsy officers like Brigadier Ali Khan? the likes of which being put behind the bars, unfortunately.

The sincere officers in the Pakistan Armed Forces must spoke the word of truth and account the operational and security heads in the ranks in order to maintain the daring discipline of the Armed Forces. If the accountability process in the armed forces puts to rest then incidents like GHQ attack, Angoor Adda Attack, PNS Mehran Base assault, Abbottabad raid, Salala attack and countless more could never bring to an end and the only respected institution of country would be on the verge of debacle.

The possible North Waziristan Operation must also be put in consideration as the attack comes amid speculation that Pakistan could launch an operation against the Haqqani network over consistent demand and commands by Washington.
The North Waziristan operation will weaken the armed forces of Pakistan and will surely fuel the on going American war and terrorism in the country. We have already reaped enough economic, financial, military, law and order crisis in the country and do not have the tendency to bear further loss.

Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani must halt the relations with his American counterparts and get out of the alliance of foreign forces, shaking hands with the victimized brothers in faith in Waziristan and Muslim brothers of other effected Northern regions.

If he could not do even such then he should neutralize the Pakistani stance over the war on terror and get non-aligned. If this is also not possible, then he must resign from his post and vacant the space for a loyal, bold and spirited soldier of Pakistan Army like Brig. Ali Khan who is being humiliated and insulted.

  1. The simple & straight solution instead of American/Brits & NATO Embassies make friendship with ISLAMIC Countries, Iran, China & above all Islamic Militants of Afghanistan & Pakistan. Thereafter without discrimination of ruling elite promulgate on equality basis the system of JUSTICE.

Otherwise Talk Talk & then again Talk but fruitless.

  2. My dear Sir.
Its not the first incident in our country.
The writer demand resignation from the top official which is imposibale in this totally failed Govrnment.
So keep yuor eye closed on incident like mentioned above

  3. Another false flag to drag us into American war of terror! Shame on b@st@rd Kayani. These generals are mercenaries of USA sacrificing nation for their master’s phoney WOT. The main objective of this attack is creating public opinion for NW operation.

There’s complete media blackout so please dont buy nonsense of government propaganda nobody knows for sure how many napak fauji died.

  4. I strongly protest over TBP’s statement about our armed forces. I think its about time we recognize our foes within and outside the country.

  5. Ms. Maria kindly teach me IMF, WB, DFIs & the officials of MoF/Dr.HS are foes or friends?

  6. According to Indian papers TTP’s spokeperson Ehsanullah-Ehsan has owned responsibility for the attack in revenge for Baitullah Mehsud and Osama killing. Also they were not going after the fighter aircrafts but targeted Recce and AEW aircrafts located in the base.

  7. Ms. Maria kindly pay attention to this Gentleman genuine query, I’m also interested to know the prompt answer of the same as have been thinking for years on the same track as Mr. AAM that this political disturbance plus the unrest of our social set up is just because of the dirtiest & filthiest manipulated, twisting game of IMF, WB & other Washington DC based DFIs.

What do U say in simple, exact & of course in accurate words - NO or YES?

  8. As usual no further Meaoun Meaoun even in low pitch. W H Y? MS kindly remove the confusion.

  9. Its our war. We need to launch an offensive throughout FATA once and for all. Its that or else we die slow death in these attacks.

  10. @Maria

Are you referring to me as a foe of Pakistan ??? That was totally preposterous remark from you. Take time off and think about what you just said. Bloody disappointing how wrongly you interpreted what I said.

P.S. I will NEVER support the army as long as it is fighting American war. Who defined that supporting ALL Pak Army actions is termed Pakistani anyways? Are you denying kayani takes orders from Washington ? Sold out generals have turned army into a mercenary force supporting foreign agendas. There’s nothing wrong in criticizing when forces go wrong.

  11. Also, when I use the word napak I’m only referring to those faujis who’re killing their own for money. Apologies if that word hurt you but I’m bang on right in my criticism. I stand by EVERY word that I said.

  12. @11 you know who are made faujis
the persons who is best for his orderly behaviors or we can say immature minds are best faujis.
the person whose logical life is is delayed
the person who are emotional and come under influence of rhetoric dialogs based on enmity, religious difference or ethnic conflicts.
so your term Napalk for poor soldiers is quite degraded for persons of low cadre as God has made him to follow the orders of some other person like him on the basis of job, seniors etc.
You have said the line beyond your range
I stand by EVERY word that I said.
what ever filthy way you adopt here at least what I read is I think far away from any impressive or decent way of discussion.Your personal remarks, filthy tags for person who is talking to you in some manners are recorded in this forum. which I think is worth to label it most disgusting comments.
you talk so much about Sharia and Islam but sorry to say you are lack of even basic human values in normal discussion

  13. No TBP, I didn’t call you the foe of Pakistan. Foes are those who attack Pakistan, Pakistanis and its assets.

  14. @Maria

I’m not a “politically correct” person. I say it as it is and I find it preferable to fancying things up for the sake of sounding better to others. That often gets me into trouble but I would rather be blunt than beat around the bush. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t have to guess where I stand on a particular issue.  My blood boils when I see our Muslim army getting weakened. Kamra type attacks are not possible without insider help. That insider is none other than the so called ally America who has been allowed to establish bases in our country.

  15. Maria & TBP — I thought I was the champion of SOMERSAULT Champion but here-at this forum who are establishing good swimmer of this category.
