Judge Dogar Activism

By Haris Hashmi • Sep 26th, 2009 • Category: Politics • One Response

Obduration, stubborness and obstination is the hallmark of the top men in Pakistan. They are thrown out of their offices with disgust, or they complete their terms in the face of public insults and yet they always remain hell bent on coming back to power.

More than anywhere else, this display of shamelessness is evident in the companions and cronies of the former dictator Pervez Musharraf, who formed a bizarre combinations of political lotas, corrupt judges, heartless bureaucrats and other turncoats. Justice Dogar was one of the leading ones, who not only stuck illegally to the supreme court but also basked in the insults which showered upon him by his daughter’s aspiration of going to medical college despite of lesser marks.

Then Asif Ali Zardari stubbornly kept Dogar in the court and only sent him home in the face of direct intervention from the army chief. Now the Dogar is once again active and is meeting with other dispelled judges to find his way back to the corridors of the power.

These people are spineless.
