Is Care-taker government trespassing?

By Farid Masood • Feb 10th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics • No Responses

An NGO The Free and Fair Elections Network (Fafen) reported that nazims are supporting certain candidates by urging people to vote in their favour, attending their rallies and allowing use of official cars government buildings.

Care-taker government has also appointed 10 judges in Lahore High Court giving promotions from the lower courts, some judges in Supreme Court.

Some days ago, the government, which only has been setup to hold free and fair elections and to run day to day affairs has been involved in giving the approvals of mega national projects costing multi-billions rupees.

Is the care-taker government not trespassing its authorities? Are there such rules and authorities with the Election Commission(EC), that EC may restrict the care-taker government within its boundaries? Or still the decisions are being made on individual basis?
