Interview with Blogger Fayyaz Malik

Fayyaz Malik but write as Lafunga at لفنگے کی ڈائری at [ http://www.lafunga.wordpress.com]. I have done BS Hons. Chemistry from Govt College University, Faisalabad. and currently doing M.Phil.I belong to Jhang and moved to Faisalabad for studies in 2004.

Could you tell us what made you decide to blog, and what was the inspiration behind it?

I was introduced to blogging by Hassan, my friend but never started blogging. I was a regular reader of اردو سیارہ and then I started a blog Cafe Khamosh and then Blogspot was banned in Pakistan and I left blogging but after some time I started Blog لفنگے کی ڈائری

What do you think sets Your blog apart from other blogs?

Well, I am not certain about it as I am not the Judge, its the Criticism of Critics which decides. I just never copy someone.. I just write what I think…

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

The Truth and Fairplay, as it . as I think, is universal for one’s success.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

The gloomiest moment of my life was the time while my mother was suffering from cancer and  I was in my peak teen years. that made me rude and derail from the track. I left the studies and thoughtfully tried to ruin me. and her death added to it.
and the Happiest moment was in reference to it. I left university and was living at my own away from family. Bhaag gaya tha gher sey mein.. ;) anyways the Day when I came back home and all treated me well, even i was expecting something different…

Urdu Blogs have got huge potential, when do you think they will really take on the online horizon in Pakistan?

Yes, but Urdu Blogs are ruling now and they have got many readers and there are enormous urdu bloggers and now even sometimes print media qoutes the urdu bloggers and BBC Urdu  is also contributing to it. Urdu Planet and Manzarnama are contributing a lot towards urdu blogging. Urdu is on the Horizon now.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?

1. Amazon forests

2. Egypt

3. Spain

What is your favorite book and why?

I have a lot of favourites in Books and its certainly difficult for me to choose one. anyways if it would be then it is Munto Kay Afsanay, Sa’aadat Hassan Manto has criticised the Social evils in a spectacular way. Even sometimes i feel ashamed of myself and it looks sometimes that he is pointing on me.

What is your favorite meal, dress, and sport?

Favourite meal is Rice, in any form.
Favourite dress Shalwar Qamiz
and I never played any Sports but love Watching football.

Which are the top 3 places in Pakistan for honeymoon?

;) Let the time come will decide then, anyways nothern areas of Pakistan.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

I try to figure out their behaviour towards their close friends.

Whose Future is more bright in Pakistan; English blogs or Urdu Blogs?

The present situation and the medium of study is mostly English.so, the English blogs will lead certainly. But I am hopeful for Urdu as well.

How Pakistani bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

They can, as they are, place adds. and Can even publish their blogs in the form of books quarterly or annualy as a Magzine. or there should be some Printed magzine run by Bloggers.

Do you think Pakistani bloggers tend to remain somewhat self-centered and  really don’t go out of their shells? Is it the oriental style of blogging, or they are still unsure about it?

no its not true all the time. Exceptions are always there.

What do you think where the Pakistani blogosphere is right now?

I think the blogospere is passing through their teens and soon they will be mature enough. i have made the analogy of blogs to the human age, dont refer to the teens as the age of blogger.

yup, Certainly, Duffer at http://www.dufferistan.com relates the current affair to common life examples and one can always be stunned.

What is the future of blogging in Pakistan?

very Bright. Pakistan is yet to compete indians in IT. but they are grooming. in blogging I think Pakistanis are far beyond and advanced than many other nations.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

It has never affected my life as I just write whenever I feel free and has nothing to do else.

What are your future plans?

the future plans about blog is to get a personalized domain and to host it elsewhere so that I may change the theme and other options.
for my own life I have to complete my education. I have plan to atleast be a Ph.D. in Chemistry.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

Lets raise and everyone gets a self owned platform like TPS or atleast contribute to TPS and use the IT Resources to provoke nationalism in Young generation who is destroying potention in useless online activities. and lets create awareness.
