Interview with Blogger Batul FazalBy Amna Gilani • Oct 11th, 2012 • Category: Interviews • 4 Comments
Would you please tell us something about you and your site?
Hello, my name is Batul Fazal and I am 21 years old doing Mass
communication. I have an intense passion for makeup & fashion and take keen
interest in reading articles/blogs regarding my interest. I started my blog
as a hobby to share my passion with the world.
I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?
Gaining followers and positive reviews definitely has been memorable. Also,
recently I attended an event launch that was very well organized.
If you had to describe life as a blogger in a Twitter message (140
characters) what would you say?
Being a blogger does not mean that you get a lot of free stuff, there’s a
lot of hard work and thought put behind every post. A blogger belongs to a
vast family of bloggers where everyone supports you. And you get to meet
people who share the same passion as you.
What do you think sets Your site apart from others?
What I have seen in many of the more popular blogs is that people start
losing their credibility and there are a lot of PR complications attached.
I share a passion for retro beauty and apply it to my daily life. I think
that’s my USP.
If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in
life, what would it be?
I have been very lucky Alhamdulillah, but if I had to choose one it would
be never losing hope and sticking to your passion (regardless of what
people call you i.e. vain, materialistic, etc)
What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
There have been a lot of gloomy and happy moments, but what matters is that
you have your loved ones with you. That’s a part of life isn’t it?
If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no
worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
Italy, New York, and Romania
What is your favorite book and why?
The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho. Again here the main protagonist follows his
instincts and dreams with a beautiful ending.
How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
I think students and new mothers could definitely monetize their blogs.
Their passion could help them earn while they are busy handling their lives.
What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier
and less hostile?
Bloggers have a large following where thousands and millions admire them
and take them as their role models. So bloggers could use this as a tool to
create awareness regarding animal cruelty, women issues, etc.
Who are your top five favourite bloggers?
Celina from www.bycelina.com
Rosie from www.thelondoner.me
Sara from www.*sarahassan*sblog.com
Kandee from www.*kandee*j.com/ and
Adrianne from http://www.thesundaygirl.com
Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most
powerful reaction from people?
A few months back a blogger posted on the website “Skinny Gurl” criticizing
model Kate Upton for being heavy. It garnered a lot of backlash from people
and was removed from the website. I personally was offended as Kate is one
beautiful woman who isn’t afraid to show her beauty.
Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?
There are many bloggers who have amazing uniqueness to them that keeps me
hooked to their blogs.
What is the future of blogging?
The future seems bright for us bloggers!
You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your
personal and professional life?
Unfortunately my personal and professional life affects my blogging life,
though I try to keep it going.
What are your future plans?
I plan to blog regularly, and venture into fashion blogging eventually.
Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?
Don’t let people bring you down. They either don’t care or are jealous.
Everyone has something unique about them; just find that part of you.
