A Khokar can you name the the locations of the eleven(11),Indian consulates in Afghanistan.Since you imply being privy to many so called 'open secrets' about India and the US, this should not be any problem. Also I assume before putting pen to paper like any 'reputable' journalist you did research your facts.Look forward to know the 11 locations.

To under mine the Pak Army successes and allude the present situation; reportedly US think tanks are coming out with a fresh rhetoric that to escape the onslaught of Pak army; TTP command has since fled from South Waziristan and gone to North Waziristan.

This is a clever move to keep Pak army entangled there for long time. Reportedly US has also asked Pakistan that since Neighbouring North Waziristan is the stronghold of Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Siraj, Afghans who direct the fight against U.S. forces in eastern Afghanistan. The United States desires to see Pakistan target those militants also.

Operation Rah e Nijat in South Waziristan is going on with full throttle and it is very much expected that Pak army after achieving its all the set goals there will like to consolidate its positions. It is also expected that a considerable time will also be required for the civil government institutions to retake the charge of their own affairs and put the civil life back on track.
Pakistan ISI is quite capable of striking some deal with Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Siraj Jallal in North Waziristan and resolves the issues.

But for sure it is evident that Pak Army unflinching resolve has sent shivers in the spines of US- NATO forces club sitting across the border in Afghanistan.

Af is not our war. India will not fight in Af. We may establish presence in many forms, but definitely not to fight in Af on behalf of USA or etc.

Unless of course the unthinkable happens - India & Pak agree to fight Taliban together. Dunno if that is a will - o - the wisp or a future reality.

Here & now - fat chance Ind takes over Af- Pak theatre, even if US bullies.

The article reflects a tangential line of thinking.... little chance it will turn into a reality.

But then ... you never know.

Om,

The latest I know (15 August 2009) about Maulana Masood Azhar as every body else know is that China refused India's request to declare Masood Azhar a terrorist.

Mr Daud Ibrahim the where about are not known. But it is said that man used to shuttle between Dubai- Mumbai and Karachi to run his business ventures. An article 'Portrates of Don' narrates that Dawood has not severed all ties with India - or even with Hindu nationalists.

Dawood and his men might claim to be the champions of the Indian Muslims, but he continues to have close business ties with the Hindu mafia. One of his close associates claims that Dawood even has joint business interests with the son of the Hindu nationalist Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray, public pronouncements of fierce enmity between the two notwithstanding.

There is evidence to indicate that Dawood is also still financing Bollywood films. Earlier the Mumbai police arrested Bharat Shah, the producer of the Indian film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, after proving that the film was financed by Dawood Ibrahim. And there is nostalgia for the home left behind. Dawood is said to often cry for Mumbai.

Sid,
You asked for it,
Farkhor Air Base (Hindi: फ़र्ख़ार एयर बैस) is an Indian airbase located near the town of Farkhor in Tajikistan, 130 kilometres (80 miles) south east of the capital Dushanbe. It is the only Indian military base situated in a foreign country and just 2 km from the Tajik-Afghan border. The agreement between India and Tajikistan for the base was signed in 2003 and ratified in late 2004. It stipulates the presence of the Indian Air Force and Indian Army to be permanently stationed there, and ward off any external threat to the country's security. Work on the base commenced immediately and the air base is now in full operational readiness since early 2007. Details of the composition of the base are not known but it is speculated that Indian military matériel acquired from Central Asia might be stationed there. Almost seventy percent of India's arms are procured from Russia and former Soviet republics.

Please Link; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farkhor_Air_Base

Google Earth grid reference of Indian Air Base Farkhor in Tajikistan is: 37°28'15'N 69°22'56'E

Indian institute of Peace and Conflict Studies also gives a good description:

Any references?

Hello Mr Peer Khan sb.

you are considering your status or your comments status after the WAR affects. think what is to be plan/done in rooms before this WAR in waziristan.

None of Gen. or Brig lead to dead in second world war but here in Pakistan our nation is sleeping still. Media is speaking the external policy language.

Thanks to Waqt News who work little in the favour of Peace Media not to show the heart affect News. todays Nwaiwaqt Newspaper.

Peer Khan Sahib,

This is quite understandable and a must for Pakistan that its able forces they keep up their impetus in the operation that they have under taken and keep on marching firm on the path of stead fastness----till the time that last culprit is taken out of Pakistani soil.

Pakistan is not a Place for traitors and terrorists.

Any how in the article above the latest rhetoric coming from Washington lobbies asking Pakistan to do more was inserted in it later. Understandably Pakistan has objected to it that US should send more troops to Afghanistan that it will make more Afghani Taliban to flee to Pakistan and may jeopardise our operation in hand. In turn USA has asked Pakistan to do more so that US need not to send more troops.
