India is Poised to Take over Af-Pak War Theatre
By A Khokar • Nov 17th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 11 CommentsOnce again the US divisive rhetoric of ‘Quetta shura’ is in spin which indicates that US is now all out to push her Afghanistan war inside Pakistan. Pak government has expressed its ‘surprise’ at the latest volatile interview of US Ambassador Anne W Patterson and said that there was clearly a “huge disconnect” between Washington and the US Embassy in Islamabad.
This rhetoric of Quetta Shura from the US was very much expected and has come as predicted that in the wake of Pak Army ongoing operation in FATA area and successes thus achieved thereof; now it is a matter of few days only that it will be clear beyond any doubts that whether AL Qaeda is present there any more in Waziristan or not. If at all Osama bin Laden is there— he too will be captured or killed. This must mark an end of US original mission and her plan of capturing Osama bin Laden in this area for which the entire ‘US war on terror’ was initiated.
In Afghanistan, it is said that practically 80 % of the land is under the control of Taliban. Leaving aside some cities, Taliban are in full control of all the rural areas without any hindrance. US is even paying huge sums to the Afghani security firms escorting the transporting coveys of food, rations, utilities and arms and ammunition for NATO forces with in Afghanistan. These security firms are reportedly paying Taliban to allow them to run their business which happens to be the major source of funding for Taliban. In view of this it will be absurd to even imagine that Mullah Omer needs to be living along with his lieutenants (which form Mullah Omer’s Shura) in exile in Quetta Pakistan and staying some hundreds of mile away from their actual bases of command and operations.
One can understand the nerve racking desperation of US forces high command that they could not achieve the desired victory in their 8 years long operation in Afghanistan.
This is an open secret now that in the face of their defeat US command is looking for a face saving exit and they are trying their best to cut a deal with Taliban command and to give them the due share in Afghan government. Re-Election of President Karzai that US wanted to tick him off —–is yet another blow to the US plans.
But Pakistan has to be very vigilant that although US are admitting that they have suffered a defeat in Afghanistan. But we are going to experience a very abhorrent and a grim display of US character in this process that once again US is likely to abandon Afghanistan abruptly—- leaving all— in an awe and hung in despair and anarchy.
Obama is showing his reluctance to send the additional 40000 troops as requested by General McChrystal. Reportedly the man fears that it may cause further escalation of war that US may not afford to undertake the huge intake of funding that may incur at this stage. Anyhow a batch of troops for training of Afghan Army and Police forces is being considered to be sent instead.
Once again US is seen pressurising Pakistan and is asking to do more in terror war so that US is not required to send more troops in Afghanistan, where as the Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared to fuel this concern on Sunday (15 Nov 09) in her comments on the ABC program “This Week,” saying: “We’re not interested in staying in Afghanistan. We have no long-term stake there. We want that to be made very clear.”
But on other hand this is already under consideration that in order to have a face saving exit; US can always ask India to take charge of the PAK- Afghan war theatre that India is since long longing for to be recognised as the local super power. India is already involved in most of the construction works like high ways, construction of infrastructures and other buildings like schools, power plants, TV stations and universities etc in Afghanistan. India does have some eleven consulates established there and Indian Armed forces are already plying in Afghanistan in the name of the security of its work force. India is also in possession of Farkhor (Ayni) air base in neighbouring Tajikistan which is couple of miles away from Afghan borders across Yahsu River to sabotage China trade routes in the north.
In the light of above it is being felt necessary that it is but impending upon US and India to devise and bring up a turning point in the war theatre in order to avail an enabling pretext to undertake this new plan. The prevalent state of anarchy found in Pakistan has to be turned into utter chaos and mayhem by increasing the covert actions by TTP stooges and consequently declaring the situation in Pakistan as most volatile and grievous. To ablaze the war theatre further a full fledge war against Pakistan on some pretext or the other has to be launched.
It will be a new war, a face saving war to pull back US troops from Afghanistan and at the same time hand this war theatre over to India and facilitate the new proxy to secure a potent Indian presence in Afghanistan— on Pakistan western borders—— which is but eminent. Signs are very much there.

Not that USA is asking Pakistan to do more but its for Pakistan INTREST to do it more otherwise every one in Pakistan will be with a BEARD/Shalwar Qameez/Turbin and Women will not be allowed on the street. Why we are blaming that USA is asking for more. Can’t you see how much killing these Jungli are doing to the country and to the innocent POOR. Long Live Pakistan and USA.
Peer Khan Sahib,
This is quite understandable and a must for Pakistan that its able forces they keep up their impetus in the operation that they have under taken and keep on marching firm on the path of stead fastness—-till the time that last culprit is taken out of Pakistani soil.
Pakistan is not a Place for traitors and terrorists.
Any how in the article above the latest rhetoric coming from Washington lobbies asking Pakistan to do more was inserted in it later. Understandably Pakistan has objected to it that US should send more troops to Afghanistan that it will make more Afghani Taliban to flee to Pakistan and may jeopardise our operation in hand. In turn USA has asked Pakistan to do more so that US need not to send more troops.
Hello Mr Peer Khan sb.
you are considering your status or your comments status after the WAR affects. think what is to be plan/done in rooms before this WAR in waziristan.
if US army person dead in Afganistan they feel it bcz they are facing with their nation pressure. on the other hand what is the status here you can better judge it.
None of Gen. or Brig lead to dead in second world war but here in Pakistan our nation is sleeping still. Media is speaking the external policy language.

Any references?
Sid,
You asked for it,
Farkhor Air Base (Hindi: फ़र्ख़ार एयर बैस) is an Indian airbase located near the town of Farkhor in Tajikistan, 130 kilometres (80 miles) south east of the capital Dushanbe. It is the only Indian military base situated in a foreign country and just 2 km from the Tajik-Afghan border. The agreement between India and Tajikistan for the base was signed in 2003 and ratified in late 2004. It stipulates the presence of the Indian Air Force and Indian Army to be permanently stationed there, and ward off any external threat to the country’s security. Work on the base commenced immediately and the air base is now in full operational readiness since early 2007. Details of the composition of the base are not known but it is speculated that Indian military matériel acquired from Central Asia might be stationed there. Almost seventy percent of India’s arms are procured from Russia and former Soviet republics.

Regards
Om,
The latest I know (15 August 2009) about Maulana Masood Azhar as every body else know is that China refused India’s request to declare Masood Azhar a terrorist.
Mr Daud Ibrahim the where about are not known. But it is said that man used to shuttle between Dubai- Mumbai and Karachi to run his business ventures. An article ‘Portrates of Don’ narrates that Dawood has not severed all ties with India - or even with Hindu nationalists.
Dawood and his men might claim to be the champions of the Indian Muslims, but he continues to have close business ties with the Hindu mafia. One of his close associates claims that Dawood even has joint business interests with the son of the Hindu nationalist Shiv Sena leader, Bal Thackeray, public pronouncements of fierce enmity between the two notwithstanding.
There is evidence to indicate that Dawood is also still financing Bollywood films. Earlier the Mumbai police arrested Bharat Shah, the producer of the Indian film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, after proving that the film was financed by Dawood Ibrahim. And there is nostalgia for the home left behind. Dawood is said to often cry for Mumbai.
Af is not our war. India will not fight in Af. We may establish presence in many forms, but definitely not to fight in Af on behalf of USA or etc.
Unless of course the unthinkable happens - India & Pak agree to fight Taliban together. Dunno if that is a will - o - the wisp or a future reality.
Here & now - fat chance Ind takes over Af- Pak theatre, even if US bullies.
The article reflects a tangential line of thinking…. little chance it will turn into a reality.
But then … you never know.
To under mine the Pak Army successes and allude the present situation; reportedly US think tanks are coming out with a fresh rhetoric that to escape the onslaught of Pak army; TTP command has since fled from South Waziristan and gone to North Waziristan.
This is a clever move to keep Pak army entangled there for long time. Reportedly US has also asked Pakistan that since Neighbouring North Waziristan is the stronghold of Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Siraj, Afghans who direct the fight against U.S. forces in eastern Afghanistan. The United States desires to see Pakistan target those militants also.
Operation Rah e Nijat in South Waziristan is going on with full throttle and it is very much expected that Pak army after achieving its all the set goals there will like to consolidate its positions. It is also expected that a considerable time will also be required for the civil government institutions to retake the charge of their own affairs and put the civil life back on track.
Pakistan ISI is quite capable of striking some deal with Jalaluddin Haqqani and his son Siraj Jallal in North Waziristan and resolves the issues.
But for sure it is evident that Pak Army unflinching resolve has sent shivers in the spines of US- NATO forces club sitting across the border in Afghanistan.
A Khokar
Thanks.
A Khokar can you name the the locations of the eleven(11),Indian consulates in Afghanistan.Since you imply being privy to many so called ‘open secrets’ about India and the US, this should not be any problem. Also I assume before putting pen to paper like any ‘reputable’ journalist you did research your facts.Look forward to know the 11 locations.
