Dear All,

Great article above. But, I must add that situation in India is not too different. Both India and Pakistan face same kind of problems at the local level but our so called leaders keep on discussing issue that are not relevant to our daily lives. I agree that Pakistan faces more sincere threat but both the nations need to realize that they have to co exist and need mutual support. No issue of Kashmir or even terror should stop the dialogue. This world would be such a beautiful day when the two nations work together to fight poverty and hunger. Just dare to imagine the billions the two nations waste on military and missiles of only the same is transferred to universities in Delhi, Lahore, Karachi or other. But, I know that the policy makes of the two nations and the mighty USA would not allow the same. They will make us fight eack ither on the bais of religious differences, Our past and so on.

But as Gandhi said "be the change you want to see"..!!

What Pakistan needs is more Islam. We anger the almighty with our unislamic ways, and get the punishment that is just by his infinite wisdom. We should mend our ways and follow Allah's Prophet(PBUH) to progress and surpass India.

Mr. Hassan, let me assure you I thoroughly enjoyed reading the article that you have written. When I read an article like this written by a pakistani it ushers in a hope in me that all is not lost for pakistan but some where a voice like this is missing at the national scene of your polity and till the time someone like you does not make it to the top in pakistan's polity till then I will keep having this unease feeling.

You talked about Mr Kalam, and what a man he is, we had our hearts filled with tears when he was not renominated for the post of the president, no wonder he was called the “peoples president”. We still love him, we still adore him, and he still inspires us and let me say, we as a nation owe a lot to him for the tremendous work he has done in shaping the direction our country has taken. When he wrote the book you read most in india thought of it as a dream we could only dream off but today we know we will be there and a part of that dream we have already started living, sure the man had a vision!

I just cant agree with you when you say pakistanis and indians are similar, no my friend we are not, till the monsoons of 1947 I fully agree with you but since we have had a history of 62 years which makes one look the other side. We both had the chance of running our countries and you know what directions our two countries took, that is the basic difference between a pakistani and an indian and now we stand decades apart with completely different mindsets. Thinking is what creates a thing not past history or shared cultures.

Cheers for the nice article!

A very honest article indeed. It is important to acknowledge the existence of a problem if we ever intend to solve it. Unlike many articles that are coming out of Pakistan these days, this article takes that very important first step. You guys need more enlightened people like these in Pakistan.

Dear Hassan,

There is no need for you to compare yourself with India. This will only cause you frustration and pain. However if you compare Pakistan with Afghanistan, you will see that there is cause for celebration.

Indian and Pakistanis are not the same people. Qaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah got Pakistan on the basis of the Two-Nation Theory. In hindsight he did India and Pakistan a very big favor. Had we stayed on together in one country, the forces over whom he allegedly commanded would have seen to it, that whole of India broke up. So for the sake of India, let us all say a big Hip Hip Hurray to M.A Jinnah!

Indians and Pakistanis are not the same people. Indians are short, dark and rice eating people, whereas Pakistanis are descendants of a superior stock of people, like the Turks, Arabs, and Persians. Pakistanis are pure blood people. So how can we be the same people. There is also no need for Pakistanis to have to claim being one with Indians. At least not as long as the Arabs have Oil. As of now, Arab Oil is better than the whole of Indian civilization, for our civilization have only brains, a very poor substitute for Oil. May be after Oil is finished, should you look east. Till then stay as part of the superior Arab stock.

What Pakistan needs is more Islam. Indians are happy about the arrival of the Taliban. They will bring better order in Pakistan and improve Pakistani economy, because Pakistani Films will start getting more and more audiences worldwide. The whole world will learn that Pakistani Films have even more entertainment value than the cheap escapist Bollywood. Real blood is more exciting than tomato ketchup.

No Mr. Hassan, you should not feel frustrated. You should move towards your destiny with confidence. Pakistanis will be the first people, which will start returning to basics and start living in harmony with nature by turning their back on all forms of technology. No TV, CDs, DVDs, Mobile Phones or anything else. The Prophet too was happy without all these gadgets.

No Mr. Hassan, we are not the same people, because otherwise Indians too would have been like the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen! These are all your brothers, so you should not write things offensive to them.

Jai Hind!

Hey Johan, our 'bomb' has ceased to be what you alleged it to be. It is more secularist, agnostic or even outright atheistic now in addition to being an 'internationalist' as opposed to its 'father' who has turned more Islamic than anyone and more 'provencial' than used to be!

(Is it true that he was educated in Bhopal? No wonder, he did all those nasty things ! )

Hhahaha……My dear Arif

You call me hopeless ha??

But you are “Hope and Change”.

Hope + Change = Change the Hope.

Change the hope = Hopeless.

So we are BROTHERS-IN-ARMS when it comes to hopelessness.

Regards and have a great Sunday

Only God knows what will be India like in 2020 as the geo politics keep changing and sometimes the change is so sudden and drastic that eventually all that is being thought out or perceived doesnt' hold true. Dr. Kalam is a nice man and that is it. I am not going to say any further as I like reading more from our hopeless Indian friends here (Incredible Indian & Co.) who write funny comments.
