In The Search Of Snow: Shooting Bridge, Shifa Water and Salajeet
By Rai Azlan • Oct 18th, 2009 • Category: Entertainment • No ResponsesIt was (I don’t know it exist now, or not) the same great bridge on which the famous Ex-Film Star of Pashto Cinema “MUSARAT SHAHEEN” performed her art at multiple occasions. This is the reason it is called SHOOTING BRIDGE as Pashto films used to be shot here. Baba Umer also told us about Chasma-e-Shifa (stream of cure) and it’s also about its benefits and location. He also told us from where it is better to collect its water.
Since we were in SWAT the word we heard the most was “SALAJEET” (salajeet is kind of gum which come out the mountains and rocks it is a medicine to be used for getting energy). At that time once again we hear this word and by now it was a laughing stock for us to hear this word, for some reason. However the scene was different this time as Baba Umer asked us not to buy it as we don’t need it because we all were, and still are, unmarried. But he said that we can take It for those people in family or friends who is having joint problems. He also told us that, he can provide us the pure SALAJEET.
I don’t have any idea about others but by that time one thing was continuously hitting me was “this baba must not be increasing our knowledge for free” and “he will definitely ask for some CHAY-PANI (Tip). As the sound of MAGHRIB Prayer was raised this mystery was revealed. End of the story is that Baba Umer told us that he is going to offer prayer and it will be nice if we pay him Rs.50/- collectively.
I feel like to thank as the amount was reasonable. I paid the amount on behalf of the group and enter it in the expenses book. By the way I was acting Accountant of the group for this tour.
None of us went to offer prayer but all of us were in quest of CHASMA_E_SHIFA. When we the young men got completely tired and exhausted, Azeem said in his Lahori style; “sadi te ho gai jay bass, main te kenda salajeet manga lao” (I am totally exhausted and I prefer to have some SALAJEET). After a long session of quest we could not find it. There we saw to local guys were coming and we ask them to guide us, and they guided us like a hospitable person do and took us to the origin of stream.
Well after all this adventure we took our way back to the hotel. All the way Ishfaq Mian kept thinking that whether the JIALAS been successful to reach KALAAM or not. The main reason for him to think like that was the sketch of Kalaam created by Baba Umer which sounds really interesting as well as beautiful.
