In Defense of CJP Dogar : Who is Supreme: Parliament or Court?

By Gul Raiz • Dec 10th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 8 Comments

Since who can claim in Pakistan for not opting for nepotism and favoring his or her kinship? For the love of Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary, the enmity against chief justice of Pakistan Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar is being fanned, and they are the same elements who put the country in chaos to oust General (r) Pervez Musharraf and created a mess in which everything burned in 2007, and now we have a bankrupt, falling, and pariah Pakistan in our hands.

Though still its not clear as whether really meddling and manipulation was done by the Justice Hameed Dogar in increasing the numbers of her daughter Farah Hameed Dogar, it is pretty much clear as broad day light that the Jang Group with its newspapers and channels, PML(N) and the black coats are abusing this episode to sling mud at the CJP and in the cover-up of this issue they are expressing their desire to oust the current CJP.

The issue has been unnecessarily blown out of proportions. And at that juncture and critical defining moment of our history when India and United States are ready to attack the mainland Pakistan and the Pakistani economy has melted down, whereas crisis of every kind are looming large and real due to the incompetent so-called democratic government made up of prisoners, thugs and idiots.

In a bid to block a possible attempt challenging the supremacy of parliament by some other constitutional institution, the government is seriously considering to introduce a legislation in the National Assembly. This attempt is after the Supreme Court issued a stay order to stop the proceedings of the NA Standing Committee on Education, which had been probing the issue of increase in the marks of Farah Hameed Dogar, some influential members of the cabinet as well as senior PPP leaders described the court’s order as “encroachment into the functioning of parliament.”

What a nonsense. Judiciary is the most supreme organ of the state. By the talk of supremacy of parliament, they are falling at the wrong side of complexity, making the matters dysfunctional and this amounts to an abysmal miasma. It dispenses the justice among the poor and judiciary has always been at the forefront and have thrown out many corrupt political governments of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif and then it was judiciary which has always provided the “way out.”

Just like Justice Dogar legalized the NRO, which has enabled the country to see the democracy once again, though its another story that how much pathetic and cumbersome it is.

  1. This is outrageous, Mr. Gul Raiz.

  2. After Allah, people are supreme. Judiciary is charred by the doctrine of necessity and the parliament is rubber stamp.

  3. Difference of opinion gives birth to healthy debate on certain issue. But I am unable to understand a good writer like Mr. Gul Raiz opted an issue to write on but being on wrong-foot. It is amazing to see there exist some people in Pakistan (besides those few who are direct beneficiary of chief-justice-ship of Mr. A.H. Dogar) who make an effort to defend Mr. Dogar’s adventures as reported in a media group.

Our dilemma had been to have so little people sitting on so big chairs.

I wished Gul Raiz might not have written these paragraphs.

  4. A minister came to Winston Churchill during the WWII with the news that Germans are soon going to reach England and the country(England) will cease to exist. In reply Churchill asked the minister if the courts and the judicial system are working properly? the minister replied yes. On hearing this Churchill said then Englnad is in no danger.

Gul Riaz focus on your own words “Judiciary is the most supreme organ of the state” is there is courruption at the highest level what do you expect at the grassroot level?????

Gul Riaz i know it has not happened for the first time, but does that mean that we should give them a free hand?

I repeat Ch Naeem ’s words “I (also) wish Gul Raiz might not have written these paragraphs”

  5. @ All: I know that its hard to going against the wind and its hard to break the stereotypes. But when your president is blessed with NRO, and your opposition leaders are blessed with King of KSA, when the son of deposed judge Iftikhar Chaudhary was also a beneficiary his father position in getting the appointment, then why fuss about CJP Dogar? Why the double standard?

  6. Pathetic !

  7. Gulraiz, two or more wrongs do not, have not and will never make a right. There is no point in becoming partial to defend one or the other. What we have been witnessing here is gang wars, no more or no less. It is time that we the people unite and collectively tell all these corrupt gangsters to get off our backs. Period.

  8. We belong to confuse culture or system.
look at the difference of opinion.

who is supreme chief justice or parliament?
Pakistan is ally or agent OF US?
    Zardari is corrupt or honest?
PM is dummy or active in our system?
Army rule is dominant in Pakistan or civilian?
    Musharf is dictator or reformer?
Our top leaders and management is corrupt or honest?
Pakistan banned jehadi culture or promoted jehadism?
    India is friend or foe?
The intensity of all discussions have equal level of our child hood question”which things came first egg or chick?
If you ask such questions to any student (who has no interest with any group) of journalism, mass communications or international relations they promptly response you with common thinking but our confused leaders keep confusing us with such discussions so that their actual weakness can be hidden under blanket of public confusions. They keep us busy in useless dialogues and they keep themselves busy in destroying our national roots with corruptions and mismanagement. All discussion must fulfill one condition that either it should be useless or useful for country and its people then should be considered for public discussion.
If we think that every citizen of Pakistan is equal and accountable for his deeds then there should be no justification of saving one’skin through useless discussion. No matter he is our army chief or chief secretary, or CJP or president, every one is accountable in front of public as they are taking lion’s share from tax payers, from our farmers hardworking, from our laborers presipiration and from the blood of our soldiers and policemen who even lost their lives for such cowards.Dogar status in our national history is not more than illegitimate child of dictator .Like father like son.Obstinate, stubborn, shameless, lawless attitude towards principal laws of country.liar, etc all qualities are common so who cares what you speak as no body is listening public voice .
