In-Camera Parliament Session or a Shut-up Call
By Farid Masood • Oct 16th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsAfter two days of briefing by Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Lt. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha during in-camera joint session of Parliament, now the in-camera session continues for the briefing of government’s internal and foreign policies.
Government seems to be sticking on the policies handed-over by its successor care-taker government. This has been witnessed by the statement of ex-self decided President of Pakistan General (Retd) Pervaiz Musharraf that government should continue the policies of war on terror.
There is much resistance being witnessed from PML(N) on the interior and foreign policies. PML(N) is of the opinion that the briefing being done is in-sufficient, such discussion must result policies of consensus between all the parties. JUI(F) is also reported to be opposing the government on some issues.
This in-camera briefing is to discuss issues related to Pakistan and to re-work policies or to give a shut-up call to the parliament members and to continue the instructed policies, the time will tell shortly.

It looks that americains are trying to get some decision from democratic jugglers that are trying to present the world that now we are democratic nation. That is truly wrong. This parliament is compeletely protecting a dictators personal’s goal and serious blunders till that time,Mush and his team is now intentionally being ignored for all the mess on security , power and food crises like issues and zardari and group is now palying the role of PML q for again protecting a general from public’s wrath and
The aggressive comments of obama and maccain on our security issues are actually very very alarming. Our impotent COAS, PM and president are just watching whole scene with typical dialouges that are making us annoyed again and again.Go to the comments of PPP people before elections specially sherry rehman, gabool and raza rabbain about war on terror. now they are looking like cloning breed of Gen musharf. Nawaz league is again showing dummy opposition drama.Their silence in front of gen Shujja and gen durrani who are master minders of war on terror in Mush and CO is raising many blunt questions on their role in national interests’ issues..
Now it really looks that both shariffs an bhutto like characters are forcibly back by military regime for protecting their skins from people’s movement that had been risen in from of restoration of judiciary and both were set back to curtail this effect and bring merry go round status for people of Pakistan.
You cannot expect much from PPP and the NRO president.
PML_N should stop dancing around the issues .
If they are going to play this democracy game…than they only have two options.
1. carry on for the next 4 years, and if we are still there in 4 years we will have new elections .
2. PPP is a minority government. PML_N should make a motion of no confidence and if they can muster enough votes, we have new elections.
The problem is Nawaz Sharif has lost his confidence. He cannot even stand up for an independent judiciary, any more.
Result… we will see the smiling face of our NRO president everywhere for years to come.
