Imran Khan to Liaise Between Taliban and Government
By Ali Yar Khan • Dec 10th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 14 CommentsThe chief of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Imran Khan has offered to play role for the peace in country and he has asked government to allow him to mediate between government and the Taliban within the parameters of law.
On the face of it, this is a fine initiative, but practically does it holds any water?
Government shouldn’t have any problem for allowing Imran Khan to go to the Taliban, but equally government cannot give liberty to Imran Khan to make a deal on behalf of government, because the government knows what Taliban want.
Taliban want to have freedom in the FATA area. They want freedom to run terrorist training in the region. They want to rule the region with their version of governance. They want to launch terrorist attack whereever they would deem appropriate. They will surely launch attacks on the NATO and US forces in Afghanistan.
Pakistanis don’t really have any problem with the last demand of attacking NATO and US forces by Taliban, but Pakistanis only want that Taliban don’t use Pakistani soil for that purpose and take Afghan issues into the Afghanistan. Pakistan cannot hand over its FATA region to the Taliban, no matter what.
So what Imran will say to Taliban that they would stop terrorism?

I think its premature to review something that hasn’t happened yet. Specially considering that we don’t really know who is behind all this—Taliban are used as a scapegoat (This whole process might help in incovering the truth). So in my opinion let Imran Khan try and then see how it goes because he is one of the few who have some credibility.
Imran ,altaf and hammed gul all are volunteering to handle the Taliban.
Nation has already lost thousands while dealing with taliabns.
there is no harm on trying on this troika.
they all cant sit together for any national agenda but would surely convince talibans that stop this bloody nonsense.
By the way 2 out of three are all time available in our TV shows but who would bring altaf back to home ground which is he has decided not come back until????

The Taliban and Al-Qaeda have lost control of their own organization and are now trying to do damage control through the media. No needs of talk I think the army should neautralze the Khurrum agency too.Once ad for all lets just get rid of this militancy
he is a pretty moderate ROLE model in the country so at this moment anything that would make extremism go away from the country should work. The extremist have to be toned down and the elements elimntaed from the country at any cost.
actually poor imran khan is jobless since long…so he wants to be in media focus somehow.

In his jobless phase, he is more busy that ordinary politician of our country.His social work for his hospital and college works round the clock so it is not proper charge on him.
Imran Khan can do anything.He is magician.He is great.
But as our govt is fighting for American that’s why they have givven any positive signal to Imran Khan.
Pakistanis(Leave Mullas and Westernized minds)should pin hope on Imran that he can bring peace in this country.

Imran Khan has been in politics for years now yet he has been unable to turn PTI into a strong force.I think Imran has been bowling too many wides and no balls.He better improve his line and length to obtain better results.
