IDPs Return Without Money
By Altaf Khan • Jul 17th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 7 CommentsThough 25,000 rupees are a joke when they are given to the people to restart their lives, but then something is better than nothing and given the magnitude of the crisis and the volume of IDPs and the limited resources of the authorities, these notes mean lot to the people who are ready to return to their homes.
But, the lines in front of NADRA offices within camps and in the other areas are so long that you cannot see the end point. Many IDPs have gone without money to their native lands, but many are still there hoping for some money so that they could have some days of relief as they rebuild their demolished lives.
Government should hire volunteers and the banks should come forward for some emergency plans. It is also feasible for the government. As more quickly government gives money to these people, the more quickly the people will go back hence lessening the burden on the camps.

i think money reserved for so called relief scheme banzeer support program should be distributed among IDPs and with much easy procedure.
Can we think that corrupt govt of ANP and PPP govt distribute aide equally to such an huge population.This kind of displacement is even not manageable in 1ST wold countries who are specialist in handling human crisis with full spirit of mankind so how could we accept from our incompetent and corrupt team to handle this criss.
Our Kashmirs are still living on rubbles and most of influential groups diverted govt aides toward them and got multiple benefits from this disaster.Same per my information local nazims and their cronies full their houses and pockets from this aide game and real ones have deprived of their right share.
If common person can know such facts then why designers of this war ignored our weakness that has created human disaster in our soil after Indo/Pak separation.
@Nazia: Dont u have anything else to do? Dont yell tat wat Pakistan given us, Just tell me wat u hav given to Pakistan.. Its really easy to sit back and thouroughly push words for The Govt Or The Leadership.. But It’s really difficult to stand up and and look wats going in there..
I’ve met people from Buner today, almost all of their families are back safely. Each family got Rs.100,000 to 200,000 collectively and will be getting ration for six months along with crop damages.

I have lot of things to do and I am doing.Pakistan has given me a lot more than my expectations and that is what I am paying back to my country in the name of taxes, my time for my people and my limited resources are always for my country.
Yes It is true people are surly receiving what you have mentioned but %age is very low as compared to effectees but even then people want to go home with all losses in peace environment.
@nazia
dear its ease to critize than done . you have to look at things in prospective. this is largest migration of people even bigger than displacement of second world war II , now tell me how much time europe took to become welfare states even though their literacy rate was greater than we had today .
and now tell me how beautifully the government have dealt with the situation. i know there are lots of problem people had to face but do we had other option ???
it is very difficult to cater for 3000000people without home food and shelter. When a dictator was sitting in islamabad nobody panicked. now when a democratic government is in chair. critisizm has turned into propaganda. Farhad i would completely agree with you. First we should think what we have given to Pakistan and then ask from it. The fat and flabby generals of the GHQ have nothing else but to propagate against the democratic regimes to find their chance into the corridors of power once again. Since the sawat operation started the government has been tirelessly working to give relief to these people. It is acceptable that managing so many IDPs makes you vulnerable to mistakes but it doen not mean the government had altogether left those millions to rot in the sun. there have been no deaths from food shortage. its just that the life wasnt normal as it used to be in their homes and villages. But then isnt the menace of terrorism our home grown? Did the tribal belt not get militarized in Zias time? We people are equally responsible for whatever problems we face today. PPP has come to power 12 long years after 1996. This isnt the same Pakistan. This is a Pakistan steeped in dangers of terrorism and poverty at ever high. This is a Pakistan at the brink of a disaster and we are responsible for bringing it to this stage in the 10 years of musharraf rule not the PPP
