I want to vote, but all candidates are Thugs in my area
By Amna Gilani • Feb 5th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics • One ResponseWould Pakistani politicians would ever have the passion, plans, drives, and intelligence? Just look at the lot, which is vying to become our leaders after the next elections. How much passion, plan, drive, intelligence Pervaiz Elahi has, or Nawaz Sharif, or Zardari for that matter?
I donot wish to rob you off your optimism and hopes, but the heart aches when we see that what we have got, if the elections do happen on 18the Feb. There is no true leaders in the sight for which the heart years to rally behind. Due to these same faces, sameĀ slogans, same promises, same false hopes, and same screwing again and again, I feel burned up by the politics
If you ask me personally, I dont intend to vote to anyone, because I see no point in it. Well, I am not tripping over to the apathetic side, and I am not certainly implying that elections shouldn’t be happened. No sir, they must happen, and democracy should come, and we should have a democracy. It is the lack of leadership which I am lamenting. It’s the lack of choice which is bugging me. I want to vote, but I have no choice. All the candidates are thugs in my area.

You need to take a lesson in political science. Democracy is a process and a journey to build a system of governance over years. Musharraf is the biggest disaster since Zia ul Haq. Why? Military dictatorships destroy national fabric. If you want to build Pakistan, participate in the political process and vote instead of sitting at home.
