I want to Lodge a Case in Taliban’s Court

The Orakzai chapter of the proscribed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has established Shariah courts and complaint centres in most parts of the agency, directing people to resolve their disputes in accordance with the Islamic laws.

Sources told The News that following enforcement of Shariah in Mamozai, Akhonkot, Tor Samat, Baghbani Killay, Jabah, Mirkalamkhel, Farid Garhi, Ghaljo, Kundi Sheikhan, Ghundako Killay, Saifal Darra, Yakh Kando, Tor Kani and Takht areas of upper Orakzai Agency, the local TTP established two complaint centres and Shariah courts in Kundi Sheikhan and Ghaljo on Sunday.

Reports pouring in from the tribal agency said that local Taliban also set up complaint centres and courts in Mushti area after they announced imposition of Shariah in Ferozkhel, Toi, Mushti, Sangrah, Mandaki Killay, Mushti bazaar, Mushti Maila, Kasha and Sheikhan areas of lower Orakzai Agency.

“The announcements about enforcement of Shariah have been made on loudspeakers from several mosques in the area, urging people to contact Islamic courts for settlement of their disputes in accordance with Shariah,” the sources said, adding that local Taliban had also banned cutting of forest.

They, the sources said, also announced ‘ban’ on women to go out of their homes and visit bazaars or do work at fields and hills. However, they announced that women seeking medical treatment could go out but a male member of the family must accompany them.

Similarly, Taliban also imposed Shariah in the government offices in Ghaljo area of Orakzai Agency and Shahokhel area of settled Hangu district. The sources said the Taliban blackened the faces of three men and paraded them on donkeys in the area after the Islamic court convicted them. It was learnt that political administration had closed all their offices in upper tehsil of Orakzai Agency and all the employees had shifted to Hangu city.

TTP accepted the responsibility of Wah Cantt suicide attacks, in which more than 200 ordinary POF workers died and thousands of families are now dying with hunger. Is that allowed in Shariah? Will TTP courts register my case against TTP? Will I get justice from there?

  1. These people are uneducated and totally unsuitable for modern economy, just a burden on our land. All those molviz, infact lazy philosophers, are a burden on us. We all belieeve in God and all, but we all have to earn living. I strongly believe as there is a country, Israel for extremist muslims, there should be a country for extremist muslims somewhere in middle east, where all extremist go and spend 20 hours in Ibadat. If you sit in home, who will run affairs and who will earn Rozi. On top of that, these Molviz make lot of babies. Pakistan although an agricultural country, has to import food. Pakistan is a moderate country and will remain so. We wont convert it into 751 AD Arab dessert where mind of these Molviz are stuck. The greatest sin they do is to impose their will on others, judge others and take their lives, a right only belong to God.
