Hussain Haqqani the Watchman of London
By Dr. Hassan Isfahani • May 10th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsAs far as the London is concerned, where the PML-N and PPP are locking the horns for perhaps the last time over the reinstatement of the judges, there simply is no development, and though the minor leadership of both parties with the representative of Musharraf have met, but Khawaja Asif, Hussain Haqani and Rehman Malik knew very well that it was all useless, as the last and conclusive decision lies with the Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari.
What Hafiz Pirzada was doing in the legal committee for the judges in Islamabad is what Hussain Haqqani is doing in the London. He is considered as the puritanical Washington boy with full mandate from the masters to support Musharraf in the political scheme, and he is there to ensure that Zardari doesn’t get bogged down by the demands of PML-N and doesn’t hurt the American interests.
It is learnt that the conflicts and the difference over the judges issue are the same which were before these committees and the meetings and there is no way forward. Only if any of the two leaders back off only then the ice would melt, otherwise these are last hours of the PDA.

it is very astonishing and infact a disappointing perception developing in me after going through multiple articles by different writers, that our writers are reacting like watch dogs .they start focusing the event rather to float the genuine justification of the failure and disagreement .although impressively the horizon and qualification of these writers has essence that transmit waves of interpreted thoughts but version of ideas are constrained restricted, linear and uninterpreted. Behavior like correspondence and media can never replace intellect and qualitative assessment of a groomed writer as his version is expression of, calculated, foreseen oriented, interpreted thoughts without the element of personal motive or interest and he only highlights thing in the benefit of people and national priorities, keeping ground realities in fore front.
Floating miniskirts abstract in the contest of article is always seen as a clip or cutting edge from a newspaper, which in my opinion does not qualify to be floated. Idea behind this net based technology is to get an evaluated form and format of discussion containing
, Cocktail juice of well oriented and exemplified opinion in the light of people of broad horizon. The point of discussion is to share the responsibility to sort out why this issue is getting so difficult to solve? are their some real domains that need to be rectified so to reach a result based solution’s their any thing that require to be change before we can resolve the issue ?does it need some constitutional remedy ?however our stress is zardari dancing Nawaz snoring and bla bla .regards

Career:
Journalism
• Started career as a journalist while still at High school.
• Numerous articles on national and international politics
published by Pakistan’s leading newspapers ‘Jang’ (Urdu) and
‘Dawn’ (English) while still a student.
• Worked in Hong Kong as East Asian Correspondent for the
London-based ‘Arabia-the Islamic World Review’ — 1980 to
1984. Wrote extensively on Muslims in China and East Asia and
Islamic political movements in the aftermath of the Iranian
revolution of 1979.
• Pakistan and Afghanistan correspondent for ‘Far Eastern
Economic Review’ —1984-1988. Covered Pakistani politics,
India-Pakistan relations and the war in Afghanistan. Frequently
interviewed Pakistan’s military ruler and President General Ziaul
Haq and key international figures dealing with South Asia.
• Contributed to Voice of America radio —1984-86. Covering the
war in Afghanistan contributed to deep understanding of militant

Government
• Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab— 1988-1990.
During this period, served as main opposition spokesman.
Represented the opposition at international forums, including in
negotiations with the U.S. government. Got an opportunity to
witness Pakistan’s transition from direct military rule to sharing
of power between military and the civilians.
• Special Assistant to Prime Minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi—
1990. Served during the First Gulf War and accompanied the
Prime Minister during his Middle East visit following the Iraqi
occupation of Kuwait.
• Special Assistant and Principal Spokesman to Prime Minister
Nawaz Sharif —1990-1992. Represented the Prime Minister in
talks with the U.S. government over imposition of sanctions in
retaliation for Pakistan’s nuclear program. Attended several
international meetings, including the Commonwealth Summit at
Harare, Zimbabwe. Accompanied the Prime Minister in official
visits to Saudi Arabia, France, Britain, India and Bangladesh.
Undertook ‘trouble shooting’ to India.
• Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka—1992-93.Youngest person
to serve as Pakistan’s Ambassador abroad. Was closely involved
in expanding the role of South Asian Association for Regional
Cooperation (SAARC). Attended the SAARC summit in Dhaka,
Bangladesh.
• Spokesman to Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, with the rank of a
Minister of State, and Federal Secretary for Information and
Broadcasting —1993-95. Accompanied the Prime Minister in
official visits and negotiations in Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Oman,

Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iran, Turkey, Britain, Japan, South Korea,
Germany and Switzerland.
• Also served as Chairman, House Building Finance Corporation
(HBFC)— 1995-1996.

• Founded Communications Research Strategies (CRS), a
consulting company —1996-to 2002. During this period advised
and wrote political-economic analytical reports for corporations
including Pakistani affiliates of Procter and Gamble, British-

in Washington DC — 2002 to present. Recent publications
