How To Help A Friend In Need?
By Muhammad Ali Sajjad • Jan 17th, 2010 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsOnce a person approached the Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W and asked him (the Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W) for alms as he has not eaten for many days. The Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W asked him if he has anything at his home. The person replied that he has only two items at his home. The Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W told the man to bring those two items to the gathering of Holy Prophet Muhammad’s S.A.W companions. (One item was a blanket, the other I have forgotten, it was an item of daily use).
In the gathering the Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W asked his companions if someone would like to buy the item of daily use. A companion agreed to buy it. The Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W then gave the money from the sale to the poor man and asked him to buy an axe from it . When the poor man returned after purchasing the axe, the Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W told him to go into the woods, chop tress for fire wood and sale them in the village. In this way the Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W helped the poor man to earn his living. The Holy Prophet Muhammad S.A.W could have helped the poor man by giving him money directly but he did something better and made him self dependent. Had the poor man received money he would have spent the money on edibles and next day he would have been begging again.
Fast forward To 2010.
Richard Holbrooke is in Pakistan, offering money like before. Mr. Holbrooke is representing the USA so it would safe to assume that what ever he says , he says on the behalf of his country- his government. Mr. Holbrooke is ready to give aid but constantly ignoring Pakistan’s long standing demand of extension of trade between the two countries.
This increase in trade would help Pakistan’s export and thus improve our reserves. Sadly it seems Mr. Holbrooke wants us to bloat our foreign reserves with AID instead of trade. Aid would make our leaders rich, trade our help the common man economically.
What good will the AID do for us?
Which is the better way help a friend?

usa has no permanent friends , only permanent interests-Kissinger
Dear BL,
You also are absolutely right my friend.
The above post is to mock the claims by the Pakistan Government that Pakistan is a partner of USA and our friend USA is helping Pakistan recover economically from the War on Terror by providing aid.
“usa has no permanent friends ”
I have been saying this for a long time , but some of the readers disagree. Check my previous posts to confirm.
Thanks for your comments.
Best Regards,
Very true Muhammad Ali Sajjad….
