How to Become an iphone Developer in Pakistan
By Shayan Khan • Jul 8th, 2010 • Category: Technology • 10 CommentsThe market for the iphone development is buzzing and with the coming of iphone 4, the demands for the iphone apps is increasing as ever. Most of the companies are outsourcing it, and its a golden chance for the Pakistani startups, companies and the individual to tap into this promising and lucrative market.
There is no rocket science in becoming an iphone developer. All you need is resolve, common sense, and few more thing, which are listed below:
1- Get a Mac computer running MacOS X operating system. You may get a used MAC which are available for 3K or 4K in the computer markets around the country in the big cities like Karachi and Lahore. You can find one in Saddar Karachi, or Hafeez Center, Lahore, or Murree Road Rawalpindi.
2- Well, you don’t need an iphone to build an iphone app. Just spend 8500 rupees and sign up with the iPhone Developer Program at the Apple website, and you would get a certificate to access the iPhone device. Besides you enjoy many other advantages like releasing your app to mass audience. Its a good small investment.
3- Like all the apps, you also need iPhone SDK, and you can get it for free from here.
4- You should be starting from building your iphone app using HTML and JavaScript. You should start from the PhoneGap API which makes it extremely easy to build your materpiece. Get it from here.
Viola, thats it.
Go for it man.

Its better to learn free and open source OS Android and its application development. It is also being used in most of today’s smart phones, fastest growing OS actually.
Nice article, I appreciate your effort.
I took the first iPhone App Development class which was offered at Stanford University and now I teach a course on iPhone Application development http://seecs.nust.edu.pk/Seminars_workshops/pages/iphone_2010/index.php

True Friend, its all about capturing the market rather than religiously advocating Open Source. What’s he worth of Android market infront of iPhone? Nothing
@Shayan: 3k to 4K of the worth of used Mac? can you tell me where can I get such cheap Mac In Karachi and that too not so ancient to make iPhone App?
Tell me shop names
you also did not tell how a Pakistani developer can receive money from appstore. From what I heard, they only approve US based bank accounts
phoneGap apps are not accepted by Apple
