Gaza Girl, I believe you are making the issue larger than it is. To say to someone that, may you find “peace or contentment” does not imply that you are not already. Though with myself, it is an endless pursuit and I could use all the prayers to achieve inner peace. I realize that I touched some sensitive nerves with you and I am sure, it must be based up from your own experiences of life. Neither will I venture to say more in this regard.

As to your comments in ref to Assaad; I am still confused about his issues here in the USA. For the sake of the readers here, I will not say more. I did enjoy his personal narration of how he became a Muslim. Assaad should continue to write and share his words, be it on this blog or back home.

Yes, we have had some bad weather here but it is better than the unexpected hurricanes that hit this region few years back. Now it is just dealing with Floridians here, that in my view have had their brains fried by the sun…:)

Actually, I re-read what you said and you did say you hoped for me to find peace “within myself.” That is the sort of content I speak of … not needing a god or god-like force but drawing within my own resources to help myself - and others. If you live near me, how sad for you because lately we’ve been innundated with rain and thunderstorms, alhough, without those storms, we’d have more water restrictions and the replenishing of the earth would come to a halt: the ying and the yang of it all! Thank you for your warm comments. I guess Assad’s article has touched many, even if only a few have chosen to be vocal about it. But, I don’t imagine he was seeking any sort of self-glory, so others comments (or the amound / lack of them) would not be of interest to him. Their conversion, however, would interest them and be an answer to his prayers. One can only hope.

Gaza Girl, I do worry about my fellow human being and what I said, was out of sincerity. I do understand of where you are coming from. I do not doubt you are “content” but we all are seeking to improve our lives one way or another. Maybe due to my profession and background, I do try to reach out and “help” others.

By the way, I am a neighbor of yours. I live on A1A, just a bit south from where you are. Interesting that we have people from Florida here.

Dr. Alshaer, Don’t worry about me - I have a great deal of peace. Maybe that’s why he thinks it’s so difficult for me to find a ‘religion,’ because I’m very content w/ the way I am and the way my life is going. I don’t need prayer the way other people do; so pray for them, especially those that can’t help themselves, which is what we should be doing: helping them. Thank you for your concern, though.

Amazing personal story by Assad! It is sad though that Assad has a lot of controversy back in the country where he lives. I am very happy that Assad has made the choice to reach out to Muslims in other parts of the world.
