Heaven of Pakistan Cricket Board

By Dawar Naqvi • Dec 17th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments

Heaven of Pakistan cricket board goes by favor,
if it went by merit, PCB officials would stay out and their dog would go in.

Recently Pakistan cricket board announced to resume departmental cricket.
This decision was appraised by many peoples.
But on other hand PCB is not allowing last year champions of PCB Patron’s trophy (grade 2) cricket
tournament to take part in PCB Patron’s trophy  (grade1) championship.

http://www.pcboard.com.pk/Pakistan/Articles/8/8084.html

According to the law of PCB grade2 champions should be allow to play grade1 cricket.
This is totally unfair decision by PCB makes lot of people stun and angry.
Last year first time Port Qasim team took part in grade 2 cricket tournament and they won the championship.
Port Qasim team consists of players like Khalid Latif, Abdul Rauf, Mohammad Talah,
Asim Kamal, Shadab Kabir, Azam Hussain, Kamran Younis, Mohammad Salaman and Shah Zaib Hasan.
Ex Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif is a coach of Port Qasim cricket team.

I humbly request patron of Pakistan cricket board Mr. Asif Zardari to reconsider the decision of PCB.

And ask PCB to change their decision and allow last year Patron’s trophy (grade 2)
champion Port Qasim to take part in Patron’s trophy (grade 1) cricket tournament.

Unfortunately there ’s always merit to having a debate in PCB decisions.

  1. Well Written Dawar.

    Our cricket board is sucks.
Rashid Latif should be the PCB Presideint.

He is doing great efforts for promoting cricket.
He set the best example for every one.
You can see every one in his cricket academy not restricted to one city or province.

I wish we have people like him in our board and of course in the politics.

  2. Well written Dawar.

By the way, the Port Qasim team sounds like a decent team from batting perspective with Shadab Kabir, Khalid Latif, and Asim Kamal. I am always a great fan of Rashid Latif and feel that he is the best all round wicket keeper Pakistan has ever produced.

Is there a reason for not allowing Port Qasim team to play grade 1 PCB Patron’s Trophy? or is it just an executive decision without any logic and reasoning? I wonder if there is an ethnic or regional bias influencing the decision since the team is primarily from Karachi.

  3. Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.

  4. I’m very upset with the politics even in Cricket. Please have a look at the condition of current Pakistan and don’t push it more even in sports. Don’t try new talent in world cup, give them chance in rest of the matches as you’ve already seen the performance with Australia. Who are the selectors and sitting in PCB??? who are you? do what the poeple of Pakistan wants… We need to win World Cup not to give chances to play your nephews/relatives… We need best talent in our team. We need to beat india and others. Please think sensibly and don’t make decisions in the way that you are currently doing so. Why don’t you select IMRAN NAZIR, Abdur-Razzaq, Azhar Mehmood. what do you want to prove. Sorry for the hard wording but I’m very disappointed with your decisions. Imran Nazir is a key player for Pakistan, the only player who wasn’t pressurized against india in last world cup final. Please think, Please do, Please help Pakistan and also Pakistani Sports. Many Thanks!!!
